This was our first trip to Nashville, and we wanted to stay cheap b/c it was the week of CMA Fest, so we decided to try Super 8 on Brick Church Pike. What a MISTAKE!

We were so tired, we were asleep the first night and didn't notice anything about our room. However, the second night, we were in for a suprise. When my friend took a shower, not only was she getting the water from the shower head, but ALSO from the vent above in the ceiling was leaking water from the room above us. Perhaps it was clean water, or maybe the person's dirty bath water above us...I guess we'll never know and don't really care to.

When we were ready to go to bed (had only been in the room 30 min that day) we noticed roaches running around on the carpet, along with some other type of fast insect we couldn't identify. Being girls, we weren't about to spend the night with roaches crawling on us, so we killed all of the bugs we could find within 10 minutes and took them downstairs to management in a cup. We were given money back from 1 night, but not for that evening, even though we didn't sleep there.

We went back to our room to quickly pack and we wanted to see what the mattresses looked like. This REALLY grossed us out. We're still not sure if someone was murdered in this room or just didn't make it to the bathroom in time. :) Look at the pics and decide for yourself.

We ended up sleeping in our car on this night b/c every hotel was full due to this event in Nashville, but I do believe this was much better than being in this hotel. What a joke. They shouldn't even be able to operate.

The back fence was lined with barbed wire -- this was our first hint! When we checked in, we had to prepay for our stay, and my boyfriend failed to notice the "no refunds" sign -- another clue. The rooms contained no guide to guest services, no pens, no alarm clock, no iron or hair dryer (although you could see where they used to be mounted on the wall), not even a Gideon's Bible.

Housekeeping evidently worked only half a day, as we were harassed by them when we weren't out of our room by 10 a.m. on days that we weren't checking out. On the first morning they banged on the door but hardly spoke a word of English. On the second morning we had a "Do Not Disturb" sign out, and the housekeeping staff called us to find out if/when we wanted service. At least the guy who called could handle a conversation!

The continental breakfast was pathetic. On the first day my boyfriend found just doughnuts and coffee (no stirrers or real milk/cream for the coffee), a toaster but no bread, a cereal bin but no cereal.

It's a noisy site, as it's right off the highway. Fortunately, turning on the fan in the room drowned out most of the road noise. There was a small cafe next door, but it was permanently closed. The closest places to eat were strictly fast food.

On the plus side.... The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was terrific. (The taps in the sink were reversed, though.) Also, the pool looked clean -- maybe because it was too cold for anyone to swim in it!

We stayed at the Super 8 on Brick Church Pike while going to a hockey game for my husbands birthday weekend. We have stayed at this hotel twice (once more last year). The guy who checked us in was very nice and very helpful, i asked about nearby restaurants and he was very happy to help me out. The complete stay cost use a mere $45.00, which is a very good price that close to downtown. we were 2 miles from downtown, it took us like 5 minutes to get to the gaylord entertainment center from the hotel. They have an outdoor pool, although it was too cool for us to swim, and it looked good and clean. there is a mcdonalds across the street and a huddle house and jack in the box in walking distance. also there is a "tiger-market" right there. The downsides of the hotel- we asked for a non-smoking queen bed room, but we got a smoking double bed room, but that was ok, cuz we stored our clothes on the extra bed and also used the extra pillows. and the room didnt smell too smokey, so we didnt complain. also the room wasnt very clean looking, the carpets were dingy looking, i didnt like the idea of walking on them with my bare socks they looked that bad and behind the desk in there was red stuff spilled all over the carpets, they badly need to replace the carpets. everything else looked fine and i loved the water pressure in the shower! the tv worked fine and the air/heat unit was nice. overall this hotel is ok if you want to stay in a cheap hotel or are on a budget. i would stay here again if i had to go budget minded.
