“Great Venue For Music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a big, and I mean BIG, venue for local and national talent. So if you're looking for something like Bluebird Café, this isn't it. But what it lacks in intimacy, it makes up for in acoustics. Easy to get to, easy to park and easy to get a table. Food and service fast and good.

“will not return”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Was excited about going to LRC. The place is large and the bar is good but our service was awful. We asked for a server twice. Waited 30 min. to get one. Food was not to good. Music was not what we expected but that's not the fault of the restaurant.

“Good food, excellent music,nice atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

We were there for several hours, heard 8 different musicians, all performing original songs, most of which were very good. With a few exceptions, the food was good, and reasonably prices.

“Great songwriter's night right off Broadway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

If you're having trouble getting in to a songwriting night at the Bluebird Cafe (a wonderful spot, but very popular and often sold out), consider this great venue just blocks from the honky tonks of Broadway. The acoustics are great, and the space large and hip without feeling cavernous. The food is above-average pub-type fare, with good options for vegetarians as well as carnivores. They even have free valet parking! We spent the afternoon walking in and out of various bars and ended with an early show and dinner here. A definite plus to the Nashville music scene.

“Fair music, OK food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

The Listening Room is a big space but it isn't so full on a weeknight. When you go to Tennessee, you want ribs. "Sorry, we're out of ribs", is something that you don't want to hear, but we did. The pulled pork was good though, and so was the apple slaw. Lots of draft beers to choose from and i had a couple of different beers to find out what drinking local was like. it is ti be recommended generally.
The music was pretty good, country of course, but with some interesting variety. The concept of aline of different singer-songwriters giving performances individually, accompanying each other, or singing in pairs worked well. Presumably, these were aspiring performers, some in fine voice, some repetitive, some a bit dull - but the variety was a key aspect of what made the entertainment good. Any one of these musicians alone could have been a bit deadly as so much of their individual work sounded the same as their other songs - so the variety is provided by the different singers - goo concept.
The appetizers were filling and goo. As a group, we tried plenty of them and there wasn't a dud in the bunch. i would have bought a t-shirt if they had had one with a good graphic design!
