“great indoor place to meet for a drink”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

I loved the blueberry vodka drink here (can't remember the name); situated next to a waterfall near hotel registration so everyone can find it

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

I ate here the last night of my trip. Had the shrimp and grits, which was good but not extraordinary. Our server was friendly and informative, but very slow. Should not have had to ask for bread three times. I believe the meals were overpriced for what we got.

“Good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We only ate breakfast there twice, but the menu offered unusual items. Buffet was ordinary. It was expensive but what you'd expect from this type of hotel. The setting was ideal.

“Over priced and not fully accessible”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We went in pushing a large stroller as we'd been walking around the Opryland hotel and port mills. The hostess seated us in an area accessible only by stairs (no ramp). Rather than complain, we followed and carried the stroller down the stairs. We asked if their was a ramp (hint hint, hostess) and she said only stairs. Would she have been as oblivious to someone in a wheelchair? I hope not as no one wants to be reminded of limitations built into our society. Anyway, once seated we found out that the credit card machine was down and the hostess was supposed to have told us that as well.
We found that the food was over priced for the quality. The kids pasta was 9 and the special (chicken and asparagus over rice with Brussels sprouts) was $17. The sushi tuna roll was a hit. The food was decent, but nothing I would seek to eat again. I know we paid for the "experience and ambiance" as much as the food. I'm sure we'll return to Opryland hotel just to walk, but not to Cascades.
