“Awesome First Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

My co-worker & I are always looking for & trying new places whie traveling. Well we hit a gold mine here. Awesome food, great service & people at reasonable prices. Don't miss a chance to stop in & say hi to Cappy! He'll give you great advice ...the German Potato Salad was out of this world. The sausage sampler was terrific! There own in house mustard adds the right accent . . .i can still taste how good it all was. The saurkraut was delicious and the red cabbage was devinr. Definitely will be back again. Hey, 21 German beers on tap! :) check it out!

“Great German Menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Have lived in Nashville area 10+ years but never made it to Gerst Haus although I saw it every time I went to a Titans game; and I'm a season ticket holder. But I was in Germany in January and loved it and once home looked around for German food. Finally made it to Gerst Haus yesterday. Great menu with numerous German food choice. Although their mac and cheese wasn't what I had at Augustineers in Munich, the food overall was great. Service was very good too. Had to skip the beer - it was lunch, afterall. I'd definitely go again!

“If you enjoy sausage and beer in a good German atmosphere this is it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We eat here from time to time mainly because of the excellent atmosphere and beer. Many of the furnishings look to be well kept up and over 50 years old. The bar is classic and very, very old! On weekends they have bands that really liven up the place, if it's the band that Karen is in. The beer selection is one of the best in town and they serve it in frozen fishbowls! The sausage dinners and pigs knuckles can't be beat. Schnitzel is pretty good as well. If you want a sandwich the best one in the house is the fried bologna. So what's the downside...most of the other selections on the menu are average, at best. Also, don't order anything the has to do with a potato...potato dishes are the worst here. So to sum it up...if you want some good German atmosphere, good German beer and good German sausage dinners you'll live the place! One more thing, the Sunday brunch before the Titans game is great!

“Good German Food and Beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Went for lunch today in a group of 7. The Gerst beer is a locally made smooth amber. Lots of beers on tap and more in the bottle. All of the food is good. Several of us had the sausage sampler appetizer with really good kraut and hot German potato salad and no one could finish their meal. It was $11.95 and is 50% off Monday through Friday. They have a sausage "sampler" dinner for $17.95 with 2 sides - plan on splitting which was even suggested by our very good waiter. Close to the stadium and downtown.
