“Good sushi in an unassuming spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012 via mobile

Great service. Decent prices. Real green tea- not the kind you can tell they plopped a generic bag in your water before bringing it over. Great sushi. Great location for the medical workers in the area.

“Best Sushi in Nashville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

Nashville is perhaps best known for its Meat-n-Three restaurants and Hot Chicken, but most people are surprised by the large number of sushi restaurants in and around the city. Samurai is one of the 'pioneers' in this area and although the original owners moved on, they left this small cozy restaurant in good hands.

Old favorites done well include the Rainbow Roll and California Roll and the fish is very fresh. The best choices can be found among the special rolls. Most famous is the signature Choo-Choo Roll, but the Hawaiian Roll and Crazy Roll are my favorites and highly recommended. They usually have one or two temporary specials and I've had really good luck with them. I always sit at the sushi bar and unless it's crowded service is usually fairly quick there even with a lot of take-out orders being called in. Half or more of the rolls include cooked fare and there are many creative additions such as asparagus and pineapple in the Hawaiian Roll and strawberry and pine nuts on the Choo-Choo Roll.

Very highly recommended.

“Great sushi, especially rolls with fruit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

I was in the area on business and advised to eat here by a friend. The walls at the entrace of covered with various "best of Nashville" awards. Their menu had some creative rolls with fruit- including the choo choo roll that comes with sliced strawberry on top. Tiny restaurant but has old-school chatacter Sushi chefs were great. Table wait-staff were so-so. Overall, a great local find.

“Great Sushi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

I had dinner here with some colleagues while visiting Nashville. It's an unassuming place -- and it won't win big awards for decor -- but the important thing is the food, and on that front Samurai Sushi delivered! We ordered several rolls and some nigiri; everything tasted great and was very fresh. My colleagues raved about the seaweed salad's flavor, too; I had a garden salad to start with a delicious gingery dressing. All in all, highly recommended -- always great to find a good sushi place in a place you're traveling for business.

“Maybe the best sushi in Nashville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012

We tried sushi here several times and ranked it the best in town. There are some other sushi restaraunt nearby such as Ken's sushi, but overall this is the most authentic japanese style. The combo is highly recommended. The only drawback is they don't serve other food except sushi.
