“Not so bad”

Well the hotel under contract reconstruction which is taking a long time to complete. It used for truck drivers at Western Express during training. The drivers and students do have a curfew to abide by. The only hanging out area I've seen is on the 3rd floor where the drivers smoke outside and wait for the buses in the non smoking hotel. The lobby is always clean and all white bedding is used. I actually like the hotel.

We got to the room in the evening, and while sitting in bed my wife saw a bug crawling on her sleeve! We put the bug in a cup and Googled images of bedbugs -- sure enough, that's exactly what it was! My wife is completely freaked out. We packed our belongings and checked out (with refund) within twenty minutes.

Otherwise, the accommodations were sketchy at best. The AARP rate was reasonable -- something like $60 after taxes for a single queen bed. The lounge chair was completely lacking seat support, the carpet was torn in several places. Overall, it LOOKED clean. We had even checked the mattress for bedbugs upon arriving. But there's no denying what we found. Obviously, not recommended...

My husband booked 2 nights for my kids (7-14 yrs old) & I. As soon as we pulled in the parking lot I called to let him know we were NOT staying there. There were 3 men standing out in the front in different spots just standing around. By the rooms there were groups of men standing out side every few rooms. It was a very unsafe area. All these men & groups were standing around & this was at night. I went & found a room in a completely different area. When checking in I told the guy about the reservations here & he said he wouldn't even stay in that area because it is a very bad area. Basically DO NOT book here if you are not okay with being in the ghetto because that is exactly where this is!

Yes, the area is questionable. But the service I received at this hotel was amazing. At check in, it was quick. During our stay we were late for breakfast. The manager , Dee, made us fresh coffee and gave us what was left of biscuits and whatnot. She stated she would not let us go hungry. There are a few characters at the hotel that may live there, and they are under renovation....but for what I paid during CMA fest of $200 a night, we got great service from the employees. Thank you!
