“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

I must say up front that the BW Downtown Convention Center is undergoing a major renovation and as a result I expect that things will get better. The rooms have been updated and were generally quite comfortable. It was really hot and muggy and the AC unit was surprisingly quiet. Our room had two queen beds which made the room pretty crowded. I requested a different room with one bed and was initially refused. Being a BW diamond member, I was a bit disappointed that a little more effort was not made to accommodate my request. That said, the lady at the desk said to check back later but we decided to stay in the room we were given. Because it was so hot, a cold water cooler in the lobby would be a nice touch for arriving guests. Generally the staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was good with a good selection of offerings. The exercise room is nothing to write home about, but with the upgrades underway, perhaps that will be expanded and relocated. The clothes washer and dryer were also out of order. The hotel is centrally located, just a few blocks from the main music & restaurant district, and the capitol. Don't miss the Tennessee State Museum which is two blocks away: It's free and amazing! The front desk did recommend some good restaurants and they were right on. After thinking about it, I would probably give the hotel a second chance.

After accidentally booking for the wrong night, the front desk lady made sure to get us a room. Very delightful and wonderful woman. The room was very nice, large bathroom, excellent location within a few blocks to Honky Tonk row. Construction going on outside the hotel, so didn't look the nicest from the outside, but much nicer inside. Good breakfast, would definitely stay here again.

Last minute trip to Nashville. Called Best Western and received a great discount through my employer. The room was clean and pretty nice. We were able to work everywhere we needed to go. Our room faced the street. There are definitely better hotels in the area but the price here was great with my discount.

I stayed here for 8 nights for the CMA Festival in June and I was surprised at how friendly the staff there are! The free breakfast is very tasty and the women that work in the breakfast room are above and beyond the best I have ever met. A lady named Tye greeted me every morning with a cup of coffee and was so sweet and kind. I watched her treat everyone with the utmost kindness. The security/valet/doormen were also very friendly. I felt very safe there and very comfortable in the newly renovated rooms. We stayed at the Hotel Indigo for the CMA Festival in 2012 and 2013 and each year they doubled the price of the rooms. This Best Western was half the price, included free breakfast, and had a fridge and microwave in the room. Sure, it isnt as fancy as the Hotel Indigo, but the staff make up for it, and it is plenty nice enough. Add in the free breakfast, microwave and fridge and I would choose this hotel again, especially for an 8 night stay! Also, this hotel is within walking distance of all of the activities for the CMA Festival which is a must for us.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are quieter.

Outside of building under construction from daily until 5 PM, so don't plan on spending time in the rooms then. Parking entrance poorly marked, but is on Polk St. You must valet park and there is a nightly charge of $17. However, since everything is easily in walking distance, I never had to take my car out. There is a free local lime green metro bus that you can catch, although it is a few short blocks from hotel. Rooms are fairly small, they were clean, beds were super comfortable, WiFi is free and there was a small fridge in the room. Breakfast, included daily, had many options, and even though I am a picky eater, I was happy with the breakfast! Tye, who was working the breakfast room, was a fantastic employee - sweet and helpful and went out of her way to make everyone there feel comfortable. The manager, Raven, was also helpful to me concerning a few issues.

Hotel under re-construction. Poor water pressure, Poor TV selections, ill trained sraff. Very good breakfast quality and service. The hotel is old and the furnishings cheap and the price is high for the quality.

Near all the highlights of downtown Nashville- within walking distance for most people. Friendly professional staff. I've stayed here several times and will return. Best price in the area. If you need large and fancy, go elsewhere and pay twice the price.
