We stayed at this very nice hotel while someone in our party was on business. Close to Vanderbilt and Downtown. Shopping center a block away, easily within walking distance. Short distance to major Nashville Hwy. 440, main road also turns into 21 St. which leads you to Broadway.
Check in was a breeze. One very minor mistake in number of beds, but staff was happy to correct it quickly to have us on our way. The building is older and not originally with the Hampton Inn company, which is very obvious upon arrival. However, beyond sight, you would never guess. It shows no wear-and-tear! Beautiful lobby with very welcoming satff.
Parking is rather awkward and small. I only located 2 entrances; the front lobby and one on the west side of the building by the fitness room. The side entrance will need a key to gain access. We were lucky enough on two occasions to park right in front, but other times we were stuck in the back with a walk to the door. A positive is it is complimentary parking, so the walk is really a non-issue when you think about it.
I was very pleased after entering my room. I have stayed at some rough-looking Hampton Inns, but this was a nice surprise! The beds had a very cozy comforter on them. On one of the beds was a lap table for your computer. A nice table with chairs and a small, but nice, armoire with a TV. Two telephones, ice bucket, plasic cups, and coffe maker all features of the room. Space was average. We had three people in the room and didn't really feel cramped. However, if you have lots of luggage you might. Had difficulty using plug ins outside of bathroom. Seperate closet with doors, and a nice iron and ironing board inside. Bathroom and vanity were average in size. The small amenities were very cute and modern; shampoo, conditoner, lotion, shower cap, and facial/body soaps. Shower and sink were very clean.
Breakfast in the dining area was a wonderful touch. Plenty of seats and plenty of variety. Two hot selections (ours were pancakes and sauage patties) along with fresh fruit and pastries. Coffee, OJ, and milk were beverages offered. I felt very relaxed there. I showed up late, and the woman told me to take my time, even while she was trying to clean up.
Staff was terrific. The gentleman who checked us in called to make sure everything was in order in our room. They were very insightful about the nightlife in Nashville. Took the time to write down several cab companies phone numbers when we inquired.
Highly recommend this Hampton. Couldn't of had a better stay! Great staff, location, and rooms.
