“Hotel or Motel.. depends what room you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

I stayed at the Inn at Opryland for 3 nights in August 2014, while attending a conference held across the street at the Opryland convention center. This facility was 82.00 dollars less per night after factoring in the room and resort fee that would be charged if staying at the main Opryland Hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was friendly. I was booked into a 2 double bed outside room. This was almost on the other side of the facility. Once you get your directions straight you pass the indoor pool and then either up the stairs or elevator and enter the upper level outside walkway from inside the hotel. The outside room stretch of room doors will remind you of a Motel. My room was average and pretty clean. Two double beds featuring sleep number systems, (not a fan) an AC unit with controls on the wall, a flat screen TV with a dead remote control and a very small bathroom with a straight shower curtain rod.
The noise level was very tolerable each night. The morning shower ritual would be easier if you had more room from a curved shower rod. I do not enjoy brushing up against the shower wall or the inside of the shower curtain...kind of defeats the purpose of why you are in there.
Next to the pool is a caribou coffee type of breakfast area, with breakfast sandwiches etc.
The shuttle to and from the main Opryland facility ran every 1/2 hour but ended at 7:00 PM
So you either walked back or took a cab..
There is a modern work out facility indoors and also a restaurant open for lunch and dinner with live music at night. During the lunch hour the staff was attentive, the food was OK and if you are a fan of retro country western stars on the video screens you would be right at home.
Overall a very average experience. The bottom line is if you wish to save some money you can justify the difference in cost. However it is not a 4 star property if you are staying in one of the motel/like outside rooms. Airport cab was 25.00 one way plus tip

This motel/hotel, is located across the street from the Opryland resort. I stayed there while attending a conference. I wasn't expecting much, but my room was tastefully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. The tub was a bit narrow, but everything else was great and the staff was very friendly.

We chose to stay out near Opryland but did not want to pay the exorbitant prices that they were across street. The rooms were updated and clean, beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly. I would recommend however, if you are really wanting some quiet time for a nap, stay on the outside rooms facing the street at the interior rooms facing the atrium with pool can get noisy with children squealing and such. Note: there are not any in room fridges and there is not a continental breakfast. There is a Cracker Barrell right across street.

Room Tip: Rooms on street side are quieter due to the pool in the atrium facing all interior rooms.

This hotel purports to be an Inn - its not, its an older type hotel/motel. The front desk staff do not know how to smile and are probably the most unfriendly that I have ever met in my extensive travel. The interior rooms are set around the swimming pool area. Very noisy even with only one or two children. Quiet time is not until 9.00 p.m. so if you are an early to bed person do not choose one of the interior rooms. Several colleagues were staying in the outside rooms and they said they had a bad smell. I did not experience that in the interior room, however, the rooms are small and somewhat dark. The bathroom is small. The coffee shop is only open until 10.00 a.m. Not sure I would recommend this hotel - it is very pricey for what it is.

Room Tip: exterior rooms away from the road may be quieter

We were really surprised at how nice and clean this hotel is. Our room was well maintained! Good selection of coffee! (My favorite). The pool area was very nice! There were normal pool chairs but they also had chaise loungers. I propped up with decorative pillows and read while my kiddos took a swim! Really nice! Front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The best part of this hotel is they have a Starbucks Coffee shop beside the pool area! Since coffee is my highlight I was happy :-) it is only open until 10am so get your coffee early. Would definitely stay here again! Very pleased!

When booking this hotel don't get it mixed up with the Gaylord Opryland across the street. The hotel is well priced for the area and average. It's an outdated property with some cosmetic upgrades that are ok. Good value for the price but don't expect the "Gaylord".

You are correct, we are not the Gaylord Opryland however we are a Gaylord property, we consider ourselves the little sibling and are able to offer an array of shared amenities. We sincerely appreciate the time you took to comment on your recent stay. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back in the future.

It was absolutely nothing outstanding about this place, except that it exist where it is. The rooms were a bit small but clean and what little we did interact with the staff they were pleasant. The interior of the hotel was updated, nice gym, nice pool, nice banquet rooms and it did have a restaurant but we did not eat there. It is a bit pricey for the room I would expect to pay that for the "Opryland Hotel". For the money I would much rather stay at " Economy Inn" next door. If u have to have the facilities in your life this is the place for you.
