“Hotel room nice except for bathroom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

We spent four days here while on vacation. The rooom was nicely decorated but the bathroom was super small. I had to almost stand on the toilet in order to close the bathroom door. The elevator always had a pungent smell that never went away during our stay. Pool was clean and at room temperature. Our son loved the kiddie pool that he was able to stand in as a 2 1/2 year old. The restaurant/bar attached to the hotel had live music daily.

I was here on business and there were a lot of tourists. I mentioned to the front desk staff that I wanted to stay as far as possible from a large group of kids. She arranged that and I took an outside room. There was some noise, but it wasn't too bad. Although there was a very severe thunderstorm the next morning, the second floor (on which I stayed) was covered and the walk to the front desk was relatively dry. Megan in banquets had moved my meeting room to a different location due to a problem with a/c in the originally scheduled room. She left me a nice note at the front desk, which I received on check-in. I think one of the kids in the large group deliberately set off a fire alarm the next day, so I walked across the street to Cracker Barrel instead of trying out the hotel restaurant. The banquet staff was very courteous and effective. I would be happy to use this property again.

Room Tip: This is a touristy area. You will probably experience a fair amount of noise but I don't think t...

This hotel is noisy. The walls are paper thin. My room was dark and smelled musty. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Great location to Opryland and shopping. Very congested area. I would not stay there again.

My husband was here for business and I tagged along for enjoyment. Our first night we were on the east side of the building and our room faced the interstate. There was a lot of traffic noise and at 4:30 in the morning, a garbage truck emptied 2 dumpsters at a business next door. With this room there were no amenities. We asked for an inside room the next night and got one on the third floor facing the atrium. I did not notice chlorine smell like the other travelers mentioned, but there was a lot of noise facing inside too. From kids playing in the pool, people going in and out of their convention center, and intoxicated people trying to find their room at night. But it is a hotel ... In this room, we had small fridge and safe in our room. Beds were comfortable, good variety of TV channels and the room was clean. The restaurant on site had good food and great servers. Loved that there was a free bus to go to Opryland and Opry Mills mall. They also take you downtown for a fee, but if you plan on drinking the fee would be worth not having to drive back. Check out Gray line tours while you are visiting ... enjoyed the history of Nashville.

Room Tip: Don't pick east side of building facing interstate ... traffic noise. They did have rooms that...

Here for a medical conference and very disappointed in this hotel. At check-in clerk claimed hotel completely booked, but that they had lalready "upgraded" us to a twin bed "suite" to make up for not having the king-bed we had already booked, confirmed and paid for. This "suite" was nothing but an ajoining room with a sofa & small dining table we neither wanted or needed. It reeked of that horribly scented spray used to mask the smell of years worth of stale cigarette smoke. The room faced the atrium where an awards dinner was taking place and the noise was deafening. My husband called the front desk and told them we would not accept the room as it would be impossible to sleep under such circumstances. The manager apologized and said she'd move us to a "better" room with a "King" size bed (having no available King beds was obviously a lie). The only positive things I can say about the next room is that it was clean and didn't stink as bad as the first one, but the noise level was still outrageous. The walls are paper-thin and the gap at the bottom of the door lets in both light and the sound booming from the activity in the atrium. We discovered that ALL the rooms face this atrium except for those you must go outside to access. I'm sure those are no less noisy since they face the back of the hotel and are subject to all the road noise plus are subjected to the weather. We traveled a great distance to attend an expensive, prepaid, non-refundable medical conference, therefore leaving wasn't an acceptable option to us. Communicating our vehement dislike for these accommodations will be shared with those responsible for the conference. It is difficult to imagine why anyone would book a conference of any type in a hotel that cannot provide an environment for attendees to get a descent night sleep. In summary, this is an old, poorly constructed, outdated hotel/motel that is on the "seedy" side. However, it's the noise factor that we find truly the most egregious.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room you find offensive or inadequate because they claim to be "all booked u...

Our 35 Anniversary...checked into substandard room at The Inn At Opryland (ie small, bed skirt torn, musty smell, hard bed, etc.) and immediately checked out. Though a Marriott Hotel, did not resemble the quality property carrying the Marriott brand! After checking out, every room in Nashville was booked. We had to go 15 miles out of town to find a room, wasted 1st day and room cost more per night. Poor form Marriott on what was intended to be a special day
