“fabulous hikes right in the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Whenever I want to go for a scenic walk and still get a great workout I go to one of the Warner parks. There are a number of different entrances which lead to different hiking and flat walking routes. you can choose whichever one is closest to where you live or want to hike. I could go every day for weeks and still get a different hiking or walking experience. There are enough people on the trails and roads to make me feel not isolated, yet it isnt overrrun with people so you can have a quiet walk too. I would recommend the parks for any walking or outdoor enthusiast when in Nashville.

“A unique city park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is large park with a recent addition of more than 80 acres of "old-growth" forest (but that is not yet open to the public). There are driving routes and hiking trails. Some areas are developed (golf course, ball fields, etc) but most is just middle Tennessee hills as they were once, natural and and relatively untouched by man. The management stays very light touch; trails and roads are kept open but the rest is allowed to follow its own path, except for occasional organized forays to clear "invaders", non-native plants such as vinca. One has the feeling of seeing this area as it was before it was settled. An ice storm some years ago felled many trees. Only those that blocked access were dealt with. So the process of loss and decay, growth and regrowth is interesting to observe over time. Not crowded, very peaceful, definitely worth a visit.

“Very nice nature wildlife visitor center and trails”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We really liked the animal exhibits and information provided in the visitors center. There were programs for the young kids also. The trails were very nice and scenery was excellent as the trees were still changing color when we were there. The park employees inside were very friendly.

“Fresh air”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

What a tribute to a city when it cares for parks. Beautiful and well maintained. Can't believe this land has been left untouched. Other cities would have built and developed shopping centers. Made me want to live in Nashville!!

Very Interesting and in close proximity to downtown. Loved Elvis's Cadillac and the Patsy Cline special exhibit.
