Nice clean and modern facility. Great location across the avenue from Opryland Hotel. Cost is about half. Rooms are clean and large enough with soft beds. Free morning papers in the lobby.

Even when you look at a map, it's hard to judge how close you are to what you want to see. The Holiday Inn Express was a great location for us. They had shuttle service to the Grand Ole Opry which was only a 3 min. ride from our hotel but it saved us from paying an $18 parking fee. The hotel is convenient to the airport and only 10-15 min. from downtown Nashville. There were places to eat within walking distance, such as the Cracker Barrell.
The hotel itself was clean and the staff was very helpful. The lobby offers comfortable seating and a continental breakfast. The beds were comfortable and offered you the choice of hard or soft pillows. Both were on the bed. Also there was a laundry on the first floor for guests to use. Overall the experience was good and I would stay at the Holiday Inn Express again.

We stayed at this hotel Memorial week-end, 2012. We had prepaid for two nights with a king size, non smoking room. When we checked in, we were told there were no longer any king rooms available. When we asked, why?, we had prepaid for this, he said that they never know if a guest will show up or not, so they do not hold king rooms for these reservations.
SO, WHY would we want to make reservations and prepay for a room that will almost surely not be available? We made reservations through Roomstays.com and they were unable to help us when I contacted them after our stay. So the upshot is, make a reservation, but arrive very early because it is apparently, first come, first served.

Clean, large rooms. Comfortable beds. Free breakfast. Friendly staff & great location. Would definitely recommend.
