“Nice place to stay when visiting Nashville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

We stayed year on New Years Eve and even with all NYE activities and the fact the roads around the property were under construction the staff did a fantastic job dealing with all the problems they did not create. The rooms were large but the property could use an update, seemed a little dated. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the staff make up for the shortfalls in updating. The location is great and short distances to a lot of things to do. Great place to stay if you want to see a lot of downtown Nashville.

Loved this hotel... clean, friendly and right where you want to be in Nashville. I would stay here again, but would rather be here for pleasure instead of business! Right next to where everything is happening....

No serious worries about staying here, but I am sure I could have found a more modern hotel than this older version of a Hilton. This location has evidently escaped remodeling, which is interesting considering the tourist traffic in downtown Nashville. The hotel staff in housekeeping and valet were helpful, friendly and absolutely what one would expect of a great town like Nashville.
The breakfast restaurant needs management's immediate attention. The staff is a jaded bunch with the 'not my table' attitude...even when the restaurant is empty. No one should wait twelve minutes for coffee. Within earshot, discussing bad tippers? Perhaps a new training program is in order. The Sports Grille had great service and friendly staff, so they made up for the breakfast downer.

Hello Lindy,

We are going to be undergoing a full-scale, multi-million dollar renovation of the hotel this year. I know you will be pleased with the results. I am very happy to hear that you found our housekeeping, Sportsgrille and valet staff helpful but regret that you did not have a great experience with our breakfast staff. We recently retained a new Food & Beverage director and his immediate focus will be on strengthening service in our outlets. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Lindy. They are much appreciated.

Thank you,

Ray Waters

Very enjoyable stay. Very good food, especially the flat bread pizza and excellent mix vegies that came with a meal. Wonderful bell persons and valet persons.Pillows in room were the best we ever had anywhere. Buffet breakfast was excellent, although the seating was not user friendly for 72 year old people.

Stayed here for 4 nights so I will review this hotel on the pros and cons. The pros: great central location, half a block to Broadway where all the action starts, all the honky tonks and shops are here,we walked to all the restaurants and shops, the lobby is ample welcoming and very well laid out, breakfast room is located here and the breakfasts are fantastic with fresh fruits, cereals, ham/cheese, muffins, bagels, and a full hot Buffett. We booked a king suite and it was great to have 2 rooms and 2 televisions, there is ice near the lift and newspaper as well, the room was done in the afternoon, the lift is awesome with clear glass so you can watch everything, checking in was ok, fast checking out.
Now the cons: the bed was very soft and uncomfortable with the sheets being way too small....didn't sleep well here. NO free Internet included, it should be.
We would come back here! Next time book 2 beds. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room with a view!!

High nightly rates for the old hotel. We had a king bed and a pull out couch whose springs were shot. My wife and daughter slept in the king bed and said the mattress was very old and unsupportive. Very good breakfast buffet and wireless Internet included. Parking is a couple blocks away on a hill with a fee of $14 per night. If staying in Nashville, you would be better off using taxis to go everywhere. We ran across one that has been living in Nashville for twenty four years.

My recent business trip to Nashville was enhanced by my wonderful stay at the Hilton Downtown. The valet staff members were efficient and definitely energetic. My room had all the amenities that you could ask for including a comfortable bed. The location was within walking distance of many downtown attractions and restaurants.
