“Charge for Wi-fi Access? Really?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

My 4 day stay at this hotel last week was what one would expect at a upper grade hotel. The location is superb in terms of being right in the middle of everything Nashville has to offer.
Our suite was clean and well maintained.
The morning breakfast in the lobby was typical but for $18.00 a plate, I suggest looking elsewhere for your morning meal. There are multiple restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Due to time constraints in the morning, I was unable to venture out for breakfast so I'm not sure how many choices you'll have.
Valet parking costs $26.00 per night. I assume this is typical cost for a hotel of this type in a large city.
I guess the only gripe I have, it's a big one in my mind, about this hotel is charging me for access to the hotel wi-fi service. Let's see... $179.00 per night for room, $26.00 per night for parking, $18.00 per morning for breakfast... then $11.95 PER DAY FOR WI-FI ACCESS!? REALLY!? I mean I can understand charging for this if I'm in some third world country, but when the Motel 6 down the street can offer its guest free wi-fi access you want to charge your customers!?

Great hotel if you want to explore downtown Nashville as its just off the main drag- Broadway. The beds are very comfy & the rooms were very clean (as you'd expect from a Hilton). The bathroom could do with upgrading. Arrived without a booking & negotiated a good last minute rate but otherwise is slightly overpriced.

We stayed only one night for a concert. I don't know if the rates had been increased because of full capacity or not. We paid over 500.00 for the night. You would just think with that kind of rate you would have an out of this world experience. I wasn't made aware of the fact that most of the king rooms face the inner lobby with no outside windows. The room was very dark. The furnishings and linens were nice, however. The staff was extremely helpful and you couldn't ask for a better location. The room was very clean - no problems there. The parking was excellent in the garage offering self park or valet service. Garage was well lighted and seemed very safe. A great place to stay if you want to be in the middle of everything!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lobby are rather dark. No outside windows. Most of the king rooms are facing this...

Roomy suites with separate sitting and bedroom area. Friendly staff. Beautiful atrium area. Block from all the fun and music on Broadway. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night for the Country Music Marathon. The hotel was great. It was very central to all the places and events in downtown Nashville. We were also close enough to LP Field where we could walk back to the hotel, albeit slowly and gingerly, after the race. The staff was very nice and the room was very spacious. Loved the fact that we had a suite and a refrigerator. The refrigerator came in handy with all the waters and sports drinks we had. The only problem I had with this hotel is the lack of opportunity to recycle those bottles. Last year, we stayed at the Courtyard Downtown and they offered recycling bins for the guests. So, It was a surprise that this flagship hotel for Nashville would not offer those same services. I hope management starts thinking green or this great hotel might lose its more eco-conscious guests.

We stay here quite a bit when we head downtown for a night (we live about an hour outside of Nashville, too far to drive back), and it's always been a great choice.

Check in is very easy. We usually do valet, so I couldn't tell you how to park your car yourself, or if you even CAN park it yourself. The lobby is gorgeous, they usually have someone playing some sort of jazz music to entertain you while checking in. Also a bar area if you're waiting for people.

The rooms are very spacious. If your room isn't on the side with the elevators, your walk may or may not be a long one, but that's not a big deal to us.

The hotel is SO close to downtown and pretty much everything fun, so if you're looking for a short walk from everything, this is the place to stay!

The Sportsgrille that is connected to the hotel is fantastic, and we eat there usually before we head out. If you're in the mood for other things, they have a menu book of all great local restaurants at the front desk.

It's pricey, you're going to pay more here than you are at the Hampton down the road. But the customer service is great and you can't ask for a better location. It's one of the best hotels in Nashville.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that's on the same side as the elevators.

We only stayed in the Hilton for one night (unfortunately). The hotel is in excellent location - just a block from Broadway (also right beside the Bridgestone Arena and across a park from the Country Music Hall of Fame). The staff were pleasant enough at check in, however were unable to accommodate our request for a smoking room (had requested this in our booking through Expedia, though the hotel had no record of it).

The room was huge - living room, with couch/desk etc., plus a refrigerator and microwave. The separate bedroom had a TV, and an additional door into the bathroom. It was more like a suite than a standard hotel room - and with the additional space and microwave and refrigerator, it would be perfect for a longer stay.

One very strange thing, was that housekeeping knocked on our door at around 8 in the morning on the day we were checking out. We didn't have our DND sign out, as we were up early to leave that day - however it seemed strange to send housekeeping around before we'd checked out (this also happened to the other people we were travelling with).

I'd stay again, if the price was right!

Room Tip: Request a room on the outside of the hotel - otherwise you'll be relying on dim hotel lighting...
