“We much preferred the Hutton over the Hermitage!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

Stayed at the Hutton for our second visit to CMA Fest. The hotel is more modern, the staff more pleasant, and the rooms far more functional than the Hermitage (where we stayed last time). The location is less central (closer to Vanderbilt) but the continuous free shuttle into the downtown area is fine. During our five day stay we had breakfast each day, and lunch and dinner once each. Service in the restaurant (1808) was excellent, as was the choice of items and the food itself. We had a Jnr Suite and enjoyed the space of the living area in addition to the bedroom. The bathroom was very well appointed and the shower incredible. Valet parking was efficient and cost us less than the hotels we frequent in Chicago. On our first morning there had been a slip up regarding the complimentary breakfast that was in included in our Virtuoso amenities. This was resolved quickly and politely by reception and we encountered no further issues during our stay. Our thanks to the management and their staff for a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: The Jnt Suites are well worth the extra.

We stayed for country music week. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly . It is about 2 mile from the action but they do offer a shuttle bus.the bar closes before 12 so a night cap after the concert was not an option.

A great hotel for business and for leisure—the style of the hotel is something like “business casual,” and has an informal feel with a component of personal attention that is business-discreet. We held work meetings in a private dining room in the restaurant, great food and again, informal but discrete service. The hotel also helped us manage a couple of restaurant reservations made good recommendations for client dinners.

For the leisure part of my trip, the concierge and the shuttle service enabled me to do some light shopping and helped with tourist activities planning, very much appreciated.

The room I had was comfortable, in neutral contemporary tones, and it was well-maintained. There’s a help-yourself espresso machine on each floor, which was really perfect—sometimes you just want a really good cup of coffee while you read the paper before you get your day started, and don’t feel like getting dressed and going downstairs.

I can’t speak to the location per se, but it’s a short drive to Vanderbilt and centrally located to watering holes like Division Street and other places. It's located on a busy thoroughfare, but there are decent restaurants and places for an informal drink in walking distance. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service that is convent for restaurants and shopping, and for going to see some music shows. Uber is in Nashville, and it’s a great way to get around town, but be careful they hear “Hutton,” not “Hilton,” which is a mistake we encountered.

We stayed at the Hutton for the Country Music Fest June 4-9. This hotel has great reviews for their pet friendly attitude. What we have found is the entire area is under construction. No sidewalks, no grass, no identified pet area. They have a bar/restaurant with good food but no area that allows your pet to join you. The staff is very attentive and aim to please, especially Laura. The facility is dated but clean and well cared for. Not the best location and I would say that they are not focused on pets so beware! They do offer pet sitters which is great but dogs need to be walked and there are not any provisions for this.

Thank you for your comments regarding Laura; she is one of our best assets. I apologize for the construction surrounding the hotel which has temporarily limited our green space. It is our hope when construction is completed to have these areas available once again.

Hotel was nice. Housekeeping came at 430 in the afternoon as we were trying to get ready of a wedding. We had three people staying in the room and on night one had 3 waters and 3 chocolates left. on Night 2 we had 1 water and 2 chocolates left. the first night the coffee maker wasn't left, but was there on day 2, coffee but no creamer. Parking very expensive. Bathroom door didn't close. Stuff I could live with but it's not a Luxury hotel. Also confirmed pull out sofa and ws assured it was there. When I arrived they didn't have a pull out couch so we had to squeeze a cot in the room. Fortunately we all liked each other.

Room Tip: Hard to say as construction was going on.

I would like to apologize for the lack of attention to detail. We pride ourselves in having a great hotel with wonderful service and it is very disappointing when we have fallen so short of these goals as we did with your stay. I will be working with the Housekeeping team to prevent these issues in the future.

We look forward to your next visit!

I experienced the Celebrity Chef Tour at this hotel. The rooms were clean, loved the rain shower head, and 1808 restaurant was good - the chef was part of the tour. The service was excellent and willing to help find transportation.

My wife and I stayed at the Hutton for two nights in May. We had never been to Nashville and we wanted to check out the city. The only other hotel we considered was the Hermitage, which was almost twice the price. We chose the Hutton because of its location - between Vanderbilt University (great place for running and walking) and downtown. Also, the hotel is walking distance from Hillsboro Village, which has great restaurants, shops, coffee shop, etc.. The hotel worked out really well for us!

We asked for a quiet room due to construction on both sides of the hotel. Eric checked us in, and he gave us a room on the top floor overlooking Vanderbilt, which was perfect - no outside noise. The staff at the Hutton were some of the best whom I've encountered at any hotel. Concierges Sarah and Lindsey were spot on with recommendations, and willing to spend a lot of time discussing various food and activity options in Nashville. So nice!

The fitness center is well equipped and clean. We ate in the hotel restaurant for breakfast, which was great as well.

Room Tip: Higher floor to avoid construction noise.
