“Truly a special place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

I have now stayed at the Hermitage 3 or 4 times, and each experience is truly spectacular. The service is top notch without being over the top. The food in the restaurant is great. And, most importantly, the rooms are wonderful. On the last point, the rooms are large and functional, with great bathrooms and insanely comfortable beds. Every room comes stocked with a selection of pillow types, including traditional down, memory foam and buckwheat. The downside of all of this is it will be hard to wake up in the morning!

I suppose if I were to nit pick, the gym could be a bit larger. But I'm stretching to find counterpoints to the overwhelming positives. I look forward to my next stay(s) at this fabulous hotel. One of these times I hope it's for more than just one night!

Our recent stay at the Hermitage was very enjoyable. The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating, although we did have a couple of issues with housekeeping in our room. It is truly a beautiful hotel with much history and is located very convenient to the center of Nashville making it possible to walk to many attractions.

Room Tip: I won this trip while at the Sanctuary in Kiawah Island; The room was comparable to a garden view a...

It's unanimous-my family would like to live at the Hermitage. This is the most beautiful, most luxurious, cleanest, friendliest hotel we've ever visited. The bathroom, with its soaking tub and separate shower was phenomenal, and the beds and linens were amazing. But the best part of the experience is the relaxed, gracious vibe and the helpful staff. We usually don't stay at places that are so posh, but the AAA weekday rate was very reasonable. A great value and an unforgettable stay!

This hotel is rich in history, regal in design and updated to the highest standards. We loved our stay. All the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The restaurant and bar met all of our expectations and the location is great.

Gorgeous hotel, room is extremely nice and comfortable, luxury all the way down to the toiletry's provided. The room and bathroom were spotless and I loved the huge tub, separate shower, closed off toilet and flat screen in the bathroom that added a nice touch. Room service was great and the morning muffins and coffee as well as the afternoon tea and cookies hit the spot! Close to all attractions, I would definitely stay here again if ever in Nashville.

We stayed for a couple of nights on a recent roadtrip. I don't think I could fault the hotel one bit. The service was absoltuely impecable, from the kerbside valet park to the checkout bellman. The hotel is well finished, the rooms are very generous and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. I very much enjoyed the bar area, but what really sets this hotel apart is the first rate, friendly service. A lot of hotels try for this and invariably it ends up being OTT and cheesey (not to mention tip grabbing as in most of the US). Never once did they hotel stray on the wrong side of this. The staff at the hotel just said it was Southern hospitality, which is very convivial of course, but we stayed elsewhere in the South (Peabody, IHH) and they weren't a patch on this place!

Room Tip: 202. huge room, wonderful full length windows.

My husband had a business meeting in Nashville. We decided to use AmEx upgrade program (for Platinum and Centurion members) Normally we feel that we don't get any real value to the program, but this time was different even if our room wasn't able to upgraded. The Hermitage is definitely the Grand Dame of Nashville. It's a beautiful hotel with staff extremely courteous and knowledgable. When we first checked in there was a wedding in progress which initially made it a bit awkward since they were taking photos and hanging out in the lobby. We felt like we were intruding, but the staff quickly changed that.

The bar is comfortable for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. A bit like your own clubhouse feel. Breakfasts were filling and choices were plentiful. For those that like to taste different bourbons this is a good place to hang.

We liked it so much that a week later on our way back through TN we purposely planned to stay there again. Even for the one night. The beds were the most comfortable we'd had the entire trip (and 5 states later) They also provided buckwheat pillows in the room which was something different we hadn't tried before. (great for the hypoallergenic group) Cookies were provided at turndown and in the afternoon in the lobby. Since it was quite warm, the valet insured we had water for our outings. Could honestly stay it's one of the few places we'd return to.
