“Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2011

We stayed in this Hotel for the Georgia/Vanderbilt football game. The location is great. It is just a few blocks from Broadway and all the bars and music. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms are large, with nice marble bathrooms with a huge bathtub with a TV above it, separate shower, separate room for the toilet. We did not have one of the rooms with a great view, but the room was still very nice. Very clean hotel. It was about what you would expect to find at a Ritz Carlton or other nice hotel. Very comfortable bed with different types of pillows, turndown service with chocholate on the pillow, etc. Helpful concierge. The bar at the hotel is small, but nice. We have stayed at several nice hotels in Nashville, but this one is by far the best. I will stay here next time I am in town.

As others have stated, this place lives up the their reputation. Rooms, service, atmosphere all live up to a high standard. Wife and I stayed recently for an anniversary weekend. We combined this stay with a meal at the Capital Grille for the ultimate weekend getaway. The Hermitage is convenient to TPAC, the Captial, the Bicentennial Mall, the Ryman, and other Nashville destinations. Everyone at the Hermitage made our trip memorable.

Spent 2 days here during time I was taking my son to see Vanderbilt University. The location is fabulous, near the Titans stadium, and within easy walking distance to really well done Bi-Centennial mall. What was the most outstanding feature of this hotel is the absolutely amazing customer service by EVERYONE you meet during your stay. Real southern hospitality at every turn. The rooms are large and decorated beautifully, including Molton-Brown toiletries in the bathrooms. My son was so comfortable, he didn't want to leave the place! I would definitely return here for future visits to Nashville. Just spectacular in every way

Room Tip: We had a wonderful view of the bi-centennial mall

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family guests at a very elegant home. We were ushered by name to the front desk and introduced to the staff who were expecting us and told us immediately where our friends were waiting. Our room was outfitted with every luxury from robes that were terry on the inside and soft cotton on the outside to cookies and chocolates waiting by our bed each night upon our return. The staff is impeccably trained and would go to whatever lengths were necessary to meet our needs. We have stayed at some of the world's finest hotels, and this hotel compares very favorably.

Care to spend a couple of days in a beautifully kept museum surrounded by southern charm and gracious living? That's what my business traveling companion and I did on a recent trip to Nashville. The Hermitage is nothing short of a monument to a time when hoteliers spared no expense to lavish guests with accommodations fit for royalty. Gargantuan rooms, as large or larger than most contemporary hotel suites, well appointed furnishings, some with antique lamps and furniture of antebellum genre, a daily assortment of delicious, freshly baked cookies and hot cider, manned (and womaned) by a phalanx of well trained hotel professionals, the Hermitage's craftsmanship and bygone-era-style will never be replicated. The massive lobby simply fills your senses with its history. (Check the photos on the hotel's website to see what I mean.) A corner off the lobby chronocles the hotel's origins, times, menus, celebrated guests and ownership, artifacts, postcards and souvenirs, displayed appropriately within two stately breakfronts. And the Capitol Grille, the original name of this spectacular eatery, not a part of the national chain, serves classic dishes.accompanied by a Grand Award wine list and knowledgable sommelier. We followed his lead and drank a majestic 2007 Stag's Leap, Artemis Vineyard, Cab. And try the butternut squash, and their signature onion, soups. I had both (and dispensed with a salad.) Grass-fed beef locally grown at a nearby farm with whom the hotel has an exclusive relationship, and, farm fresh vegetables from a local supplier, created memories lasting weeks later. Although typically not a fan of eating beef "out," on the recommendation of the waiter I chose a ribeye steak. Extraordinarily flavorful, prepared as ordered, and served sizzling on pewter platters, I never regretted the decision. The Hermitage is a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star worthy of its designations. A fun break for those who appreciate gentle, sophisticted elegance in Dixie,

Room Tip: No need for a "tip" here. I stayed in two different rooms, and both were massive and well...

Two nights in a Grand Deluxe room - certainly lived up to all expectations. Notably historical - not a hint of plastic modernity. Concierge exceptionally helpful in recommending Grand Ole Opry and arranging the booking. Only regret was the late arrival on the first night and the need to hit the road to Memphis after two nights only, but if we're ever back in Nashville we will not hesitate to stay here again.

My husband and I had a short honeymoon here in January. We were always greeted by our names and the staff was very friendly. On one night of our stay, there was a loud and lively wedding reception downstairs in the lobby. They seemed to contain it fairly well and we didn't hear commotion in our room or the restaurant. The room was goregous--not too big that it felt like an apartment, but sophistcated. We had the perfect view of the capital from our window. The bathroom is to-die-for and they're generous with nice bath tolietries. We had a tiny flat screen tv, 2 sinks, separate toliet, standing-frameless-glass shower, and soaking tub. My husband fell in love with his bathrobe, and we bought it as a souvenir. The bed was divine and they served breakfast perfectly the next morning. Don't get me started on the food though!
I love that it's dog-friendly too. The men's bathroom is always a popular spot, though I think it's overrated. I'm from Nashville and I've always heard of the Hermitage....but now I know why it's so popular! We hope to go back soon. Also, look for great winter specials with extras like valet parking, champagne, etc.
