3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

We are loyal Hilton customers. While some aspects of the hotel were fine, there were others that were frustrating. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice surprise. Our room was on the 9th floor. The room was bigger, but still only had one "easy chair". The room was big enough to accomodate a love seat and would have been more appropriate. Our room had an adjoining door with the room next door. There is no sound barrier. We clearly heard our tipsy nieghbors' conversations and their tv shows. The bathroom is incredibly small.
Two things were very frustrating. First, we were there on Labor Day. The Starbucks closed without any notice at 11:00am. Second, hotel info stated that breakfast started at 6:00 am. We went down to breakfast at 6:20 am only to be told they don't open until 6:30. We went back down at 6:35. They were open, but not all of the food was out on the serving line.
On the plus side, the rooms were clean, the front desk staff was friendly, and most importantly the bellman staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Assure that your room is not an adjoining room.

The hotel is an ideal place to stay during business or leisure visits to Nashville. One can easily walk to the places of interest in nashville and can connect to other places by bus. the station is a block away from the hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly.

I'll just start by saying that I'm
OCD about rooms being clean. The doubltree is clean, the service and staff are considerate and good at what they do. The rooms are nice and beds are comfy. The only issue that I could have with it is that it's a little dated. But I enjoyed the location and they have an excellent shuttle service!

We picked this hotel based on it's location to second avenue and our experience with other Hilton Hotels. Everyone was extremely helpful and offered suggestions on both dinner accommodations and the nightlife. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. We had a fruit and cheese plate brought up to snack on before we left for dinner and it was very generous and tasty.

My husband and I had a problem when checking in on 8/25/13. Our reservation included the Government Getaway package, which had breakfast for us both. When checking in, we were informed that breakfast wasn't included. We questioned this, and were told again, by a second person on the desk, that it wasn't part of our package. Upon arriving in our room, my husband pulled up our confirmation on his laptop, and took his proof back to reception. The first woman on the desk was very nice about the confusion, but the second woman treated my husband rudely. She never offered an apology for her mistake, or for his inconvenience, and she threw the breakfast coupons down on the desk. There was no reason for such hateful behavior. Fortunately, everyone else we encountered during our stay was very friendly and helpful, especially Madeleine, our hostess at breakfast, and the bellmen that helped with our luggage. Our room was spacious, quiet, and clean. We would stay here again, but next time we'll make sure to print out our confirmation!

Stayed one night, Friday before Labor day. The hotel is older, and worn. It is in a good location for doing downtown Nashville. That said, if you stay there DO NOT stay on the higher floors, it is a 15-20 minute ride on the elevators that stop at every floor, and they are packed.
Also...DO NOT book this hotel if you expect a reasonably quiet stay.
This hotel is constantly full of bachelor and bachelorette parties...it is known for them.
you will see and hear just about anything. SO consider yourself warned. if loud foul language offends you, seek shelter elsewhere.
if however, you are planning a bachelor party, or bachelorrette party...this would be the place.
The rooms are older, small, and baths are miniscule. Beds are comfortable.
You will pay an additional $25 per day for parking onsite. there is NO FREE PARKING.

Room Tip: LOW FLOOR...avoid the elevators as much as possible. they are old and slow.

This was my first trip to Nashville, and we could not have been happier with our hotel selection. Walking distance to Broadway, football stadium, Ryman Auditorium, and lots of fun little spots downtown. If you choose to take a taxi, the guys who work out front will be quick to assist you and greet you with a smile. Clean, spacious rooms, friendly service, and great location! I also highly recommend breakfast at 417 Union across the street - charming little spot!
