“Worst Customer Service Experience I've Ever Had”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

I've never been to a hotel where they argue with you upon check-in. The manager on site was dismissive of my experience. Extremely rude staff. It made for a terrible stay. Certainly not what I expected for the money I spent to stay here.

Hotel is convenient to my business, has predictable rooms which were perfect for me. Bar and food was fine and prices reasonable (food very tasty). I've stayed there several times in the last month or so and will come back again.

I was disappointed on my last visit by one thing - they were filming an episode of the Nashville TV series. The lobby and dining area were full of the production staff and equipment. Hard to eat and chat with associates when you are shushed, quiet please, and other movie production interruptions. Staff and the production company were extremely nice, apologetic and thankful when we stayed quiet. I just don't understand why the hotel did not alert me via email of the expected filming. I'm just doing business and don't need the hassle. I am not star-struck.

We stayed here for one night and found the location to be perfect for us. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Valet parking was $25/day. Staff was friendly and valet asked if we needed directions whenever we left. Breakfast buffet was average. I did not find the hotel noisy which was a plus. If you have a lot of luggage, I recommend using the bell man because the lobby is one floor up from the valet/entrance.

The DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Nashville provides a great location for visiting all the popular entertainment and tourist areas. One of the nicest features is being able to park the car and walk to Broadway, and all the area's bars, saloons, and restaurants.

The hotel does everything right, starting with the reception area. They were very welcoming, and found the good balance between "friendly" and "professional." This was appreciated, as was the warm chocolate chip cookie offered to all arriving guests.

The guest rooms are very comfortable, and have all the amenities that you would expect. The only shortcoming was that the desk was a bit oddly shaped and small. However, they provided both wired and wireless internet, without charge (an important feature for me). So, I was definitely able to get work done in the room.

Within the lobby is a convenience store, a Starbucks, a martini bar, a casual restaurant (for breakfast and lunch), and a somewhat generic steak restaurant. So, you can certainly find what you need within the hotel. However, given all the possibilities that exist within the downtown area, you can find many more interesting places for dining and entertainment. That said, the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

The conference staff was very helpful. They provided great service, and kept our meeting room clean and well stocked.

So, this hotel is a great choice for both business and personal travel. I recommend it.

The staff here is most courteous and helpful from housekeeping to valet to the front desk. The views from the room are spectacular and I did sleep well. For the price, I was expecting a more well kept hotel. I can't really put my finger on it, but it just seems this place is in need of a bit of renewal. Carpet, wallpaper, whatever. You can't beat the location though.

If you valet, be sure to call 30 minutes or so ahead of when you leave. Right before checkout they get extremely busy.

We stayed here for two nights in Sept. 2012 - very disappointed - the rooms were very good and spacious and Breakfast buffet was OK - we had Dinner one night - Restaurant closed because we would have been the only people in there so settled for our meal served in the Bar - very dark - could hardly read the menu - food OK. We were in the wrong part of town. We visited Grand Ole Opry, the General Jackson Dinner Cruise and the Trolley Tour of Nashville. - all very good.
The hotel did have a shuttle within a few miles radius (not to Opryland) - Once we had done these attractions we decided we wont be going back to Nashville.

Beds and furniture looked new. rest of the room - paint and bath, looked older. Tile on shower walls was newer, but the floor tile was probably original and looked it. shower head was way too short and Im only 6'.
lobby carpet looked worn, but still clean.
overall a good stay.
Very friendly staff.
