“Great botanical garden..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Cheekwood is located a convenient distance outside of Nashville, in the exclusive Belle Meade part of town. It was enjoyable seeing all the spectacular houses and properties on the drive down there. The gardens themselves are done very nice. There are 5-6 separate garden areas scattered around the grounds, each one different then the others. It's not a big place, so it's an easy walk between garden areas. We got to the gardens when they opened, so had the place almost to ourselves for the first 90 minutes or so. The mansion is also interesting to see and I highly recommend the docent tour so you can find out a little bit of the background of the family behind Maxwell House Coffee and where the term, "good to the last drop" came from.

If you're a member of a botanical garden from another city, check to see if they have a reciprocal agreement with Cheekwood. Our garden did, so our two admissions and parking today were free (saving us $31)

“Great place to go for flowers & exciting exhibits. ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

I would suggest you get there right when they open so there ate not as many people around. . . Especially if you want pictures of the amazing scenery and grounds. The Bug exhibit was going on when we went which was fun to see all the different bug sculptures integrated into the beautiful surroundings. Plus, I'm trying to get better at DSLR photography and this place has so many beautiful areas to photograph. And mention the most important thing...I became engaged here!

“Beautiful gardens outside the City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

wonderful place outside the City for peace and quiet and relaxation. Cheekwood is a beautiful location and is worth the drive or ride about 20 min out of Downtown.
