Owner description: "The Bluebird Cafe is one of the world's preeminent listening rooms and has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter's performance space where the "heroes behind the hits" perform their own songs; songs that have been recorded by chart-topping artists in all genres of music. Located in a small strip mall outside of downtown Nashville, the tiny 85 seat venue is unassuming in appearance but some of the most significant songwriters and artists have performed on this stage.

“Everyone needs to go once!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

Wife and I went on Sunday to writer's night. Very cool to see where it all starts for many big name music stars! Very cool piece of Nashville history.

“Layed back atmosphere at the Bluebird”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

If you want a unique music experience in Nashville, this is it. We had a great time. Good food at a reasonable price. Get there early because it only seats about 100. There were probably a good 100 turned away.

“Don't Talk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

This is a Nashville country music landmark which is interesting in that it's no where near Music Row or the downtown Honky Tonks . It's what's referred to as a "Listening Club" which means you go to listen to music, period, end of sentence. The good news is most country music stars got their start here and they get very good acts. It's considered an honor to be asked to play here, even if you don't get paid. The bad, or maybe not so bad, news is it's a "LISTENING CLUB!" and they will get downright p--sed if you talk during performances.

So, if you're in Nashville for the Honky Tonk scene, like to dance, like to chat it up with whoever you're with, don't go. If however you want to listen to really good music and don't mind sitting down and keeping your mouth shut during performances, absolutely go.

“No reservation...worth the wait”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

We were the last 2 in for the 1st show. Don't expect to sit together, but if that doesn't bother you, you will enjoy the very intimate atmosphere!

“Great show!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We sat next to the stage and really enjoyed the performance of Marshall Chandler and her excellent band. She is a 63 year old rocker who still can put on a great show.
