Visited The Hermitage while spending a few days in Nashville. The house was interesting and the guides in each area very informative. The only annoying thing was that you couldn't actually go into the rooms as they were barricaded off with glass panels. Interesting, when you think that you can go into the rooms of many palaces, castles, etc in Europe, which are much older! The grounds are well looked after, with some preserved slave cabins, etc. which were very interesting. There are also the graves of Andrew Jackson and his wife, but we didn't actually look at them as an elderly aunt with us was too tired. There's a good shop with a variety of good quality souvenirs available. Unfortunately when we went the cafe wasn't open as they were 'between contracts with caterers'. Well worth a visit.
