“Great hotel for Nashville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Of all the hotels we've stayed at in Nashville, this is the best. Clean, spacious rooms and lobby. Wonderful pool. Great sleep. Great location. Worth a stay if you get a chance. All doors require a key so it makes you feel extra safe. Logan's is next door for an easy bite to eat. Not far from Pancake Pantry either.

Room Tip: Book in advance to get the internet rate.

My husband and I went to Nashville for a show at the Exit/In. It was a perfect location to walk to the venue. There is several eating places within walking distance also.
The front desk staff was very friendly and was quick with check in and out.
The hot breakfast was good, but the hotel was very busy and there was very limited space to sit and eat. In the afternoons, they have free popcorn or snacks located in the lobby for guests.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We had the king bed with a microwave and mini fridge in the room.
We will be staying here again in the future.

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a road trip around the deep south of America.

Free parking, wifi and breakfast.

Best pool of the hotels we gave stayed in so far.

A few minutes walk from centennial park and a row of restaurants and shops.

Downtown was a 7-8 dollar taxi ride away, we did also walk it and it was about 40 mins.

The opry was about a 20 min drive away.

I brought my wife with me on a business trip and we stayed at this Hampton for four nights. Originally wanted to stay downtown, but made the reservations to late to get a decent price point. This hotel was a great find as an alternative. We had a 1 king bed, non-smoking room.

One note, there are two Hamptons in the Vanderbilt area, one on West End and this one on Elliston Place. I made the mistake of going to the West End location and trying to check in. They were somewhat rude and unhelpful, other than telling me I was at the wrong place. Once at the right hotel, I knew I had made the right choice. Michael checked us in and was very helpful. This hotel doesn't have a shuttle that runs guests to downtown, so I asked Michael how to get there from the hotel. He offered several suggestions, when I chose the local bus system, he took the time to print out the routes and times that that I would need. The pick up point was one block from the hotel, convenient, bus' clean and easy.

The room was very spacious and clean. The shower head was excellent and there was plenty of room for all our toiletries on the sink counter. There was a refrigerator in the room (hidden in a desk unit.). If you have a lot of clothes that you want to hang up the closet was somewhat small, but it met our needs nicely. The only odd thing about the room is the comforter was lumpy, but found out that they wash the linens and comforter each day, which explained why it had bunches/lumps. The bed was very comfortable and the area quiet. We were on the 7th floor and it felt like we had the floor to ourselves, even though there were others on the floor.

The breakfast was just what I expected from a Hampton. It had a different hot selection for each day we were there (Veggie/Cheese Omelet, Eggs, Cheese Eggs w/Ham, sausage, bacon, ham). All were warm and tasted good. There was also, juice, fresh fruit (cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes, etc), yogurt, breads cereal, pastries to name a few. The lady that took care of the area did a great job of keeping things stocked, even on busy days. The managers also came and helped on some mornings. Thought this was very good customer service.

Overall had four great nights at this facility and would stay there again when I am in the Nashville area.

Room Tip: Normally I would stay away from the elevators and ice/vending areas, but the ice/vending was behind...

I just stayed here last week for a quick conference at Vandy. It was overall very nicely done. The front desk staff was very friendly and got everything taken care of in pretty short order. The hot breakfast every day was a clear perk and is one of the key selling features for Hampton Inn's. The location is absolutely impeccable in terms of proximity to not only Vandy, but also to Centennial Park, which is a lovely place to get some air and enjoy nature without going too far. It's also very convenient to a lot of really good food - including Calypso Cafe, which isn't on their recommended nearby food list, although it's QUITE good and very healthy.

My only complaints were in the details. For instance, while the bathroom was clean overall, there was definitely hair that didn't belong to me on the floor, and small pieces of trash that hadn't been completely cleaned up. The remote (and lapdesk they set it on) was a bit sticky, which as you might imagine, was less than ideal.

Other than that, I didn't have anything to complain about. A capital improvement that I think would be great is adding a pedestrian gate to the side entrance. Otherwise, you either have to walk out the front door (even though there are doors on either side of the building) or through the grass to get out to the side street (if you don't have a car). I thought that was a design oversight and should probably be addressed.

I would definitely recommend this as a wonderful location for proximity, hospitality and suitability for economical business travel. I would just suggest that they do a bit more spot-checking on their maintenance staff to make sure they are doing all the small things that make a hotel ascend from good to great.

We've stayed here several times over the years visiting our son at Vanderbilt. Really convenient walk to campus. Staff couldn't be more friendly. Breakfast is more than adequate for a freebee. (As someone noted, the flow into the food area isn't ideal, but who cares if you wait 10 seconds for someone else to move.) Internet fine and free, same with parking. Often had fruit out during the day. Rooms are plenty nice. On other trips we upgraded to the small suite, which is much more room for not much more money; no brainer if there are 2 of you. Usually went running outside, so didn't use the small gym nor outdoor pool.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the small suite for not much more

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Vanderbilt University and were quite happy with our experience. The staff was helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
