“Awesome Hotel! Super Clean and Modern.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2009

Awesome price on Hotwire! Went there for a huge chess tournament at the Gaylord. Felt very smug to have only paid $65 a night when alot of the other guests paid rack!
Good breakfast in the AM and the rooms are really nice. Free wi-fi thruout, free shuttle. Comfortable beds and super clean rooms. Would not hesitate to stay again.

ANTS, ANTS ANTS all over the place! We booked this hotel for a three night stay for a long weekend in the Opryland area. The first room we settled into and after unpacking I went to use the bathroom and discovered small black ants crawling around all over the place. We immediately packed our things and the front desk switched us to a second room. We inspected the bathroom and didn't find ants so we unpacked. Then, I climbed into bed and then spotted ants crawling on the headboard and then upon closer inspection found them in the bedroom area...I'm saying like there were hundreds of them in the room. It was a NIGHTMARE. When we went to the desk to complain and then tell them we wanted to cancel our three night reservation and immediately check out, the desk clerk gave us a bad attitude but we did get a refund after complaining. The desk clerk didn't deny the ants and told us that the Radisson Hotel nearby also had an ant problem too. I made some calls and checked the AAA book and then booked a stay at the Nashville Sleep Inn, which we were very happy about. It was cheaper and cleaner and didn't have any ants.

Nice 3 star hotel a mile from Opryland Hotel. Several eating places in area.

Friendly, Helpful staff.

Suite type room with couch, desk, coffee corner vanity, small frig as you walk in. Then, walk thru a passage past the 42" flat screen HD tv and see the bed(s), closet, long vanity with sink, commode/shower bathroom. Well decorated and everything in good condition. The room feels "classy" with marble vanity tops, offset fixture on sink, bright lighting, extra pillows, lots of mirrors, bathroom heat lamp. And, a US Today outside the door every morning, cordless phone for local free calls, HBO and ESPN HD channels.

Minor negatives - extra small bathroom, walls somewhat thin, limited number of tv channels (20?), upscale contntl breakfast room small and lacking in donuts/sweetrolls, no tele directory in room.

Overall, really enjoyed our 3 night stay here.

We stayed here for 5 nights on our trip round Tennessee. Check in was busy - the staff were always helpful, but really had too much to do with trying to run Reception and the coffee bar.

Our room was lovely - just like the pictures on their website. It was large and bright with a kitchen area, large plasma screen tv and seating area. Everything was spotlessly clean.

We had continental breakfast included each morning, but you could also pay for a cooked choice. The breakfast area was not large enough, so people had to sit in Reception.

We had stayed Downtown in Nashville before, and wanted to stay in Opryland area this time, so the location was great. We had Opry Mills just across the road, and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Nashville city is only about 20 mins away by car.

With the Grand Old Opry, General Jackson Showboat, Willie Nelson's Museum and Cooters there is plenty to do close by. Opry Mills is one of the best Malls I have been in - the hotel runs a shuttle bus there as well. You must go to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel - it is huge and well worth looking round.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Opryland for the Duke/Vanderbilt football game (final score: Duke 10 - Vandy 7). The hotel is really quite nice when one considers the relative costs involved. A few weeks prior to this visit to Nashville, we stayed at the Gaylord Opryland. My wife mentioned more than once that she liked the room and hotel at the Hyatt Place much more than the Gaylord Opryland regardless of cost. Considering the Gaylord cost almost 3X as much, I do think the Hyatt Place is a good option for people wanting the Opryland area.

Our room can be considered a suite, although it is much more of a large room with a partial divider. There is a huge HDTV situated opposite the divider. It was great to come back to the room after a tiring day and watch yet more football in HD! The king bed was quite firm. It felt great on my back although I guess it depends on one's preference. The bathroom is relatively tiny compared to the rest of the room's dimensions. There was a small fridge (no honor bar items inside) as well as a digital safe. The area of the room opposite of the partial divider included a nice sectional that opened up to a bed.

The hotel has an outside pool (not very useful in October) and a modest workout room (4 machines - actually decent with TV feed on the display screen). A small business center with a couple computers, internet access, and a printer was located on the ground floor. Morning breakfast was fairly standard but good and included bagels, English muffins, Yoplait, Philly cream cheese, Kelloggs cereals, OJ, milk, Starbucks coffee, etc.

Really there were minimal problems from our vantage point. A nice size room with complimentary breakfast at a rate barely more than the resort fee and parking charge we paid a month earlier at the Gaylord Opryland. I think the Hyatt Place would be a good option for people who want a little more room and do not need extensive on-site amenities.
