“Very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

This hotel is clean, well staffed, and has large rooms. The lobby is large and inviting. The breakfast is the best of any "free" hotel breakfast I have encountered. It is about 15 minutes from downtown and is super close to Opry Land. We walked to the Opry Hotel for dinner. Super close. I would absolutely stay here again.

I always stay here for business in Nashville. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great breakfast in the morning that is free. Starbucks coffee, free snacks and nice staff - what more does one need? You can't go wrong with Hyatt Place.

This was the better of the two Hyatt Place hotels we stayed at during our road trip. It is very close to the Grand Ole Opry, the current home of the show. The hotel is comfortable and the staff very helpful and competent. Also, ice is available on every floor.

Our room had two full beds and a sofa bed. The refrigerator and AC unit worked much better here than at our previous Hyatt hotel in Arlington. The room is very spacious and accommodated our family of four with ease. Parking was ample and the hotel provided a shuttle service to and from the Opryland complex, a five minute trip.

Breakfast was very good the days we were there. We had french toast, scrambled eggs, sausage links and fruit. There was also oatmeal, yogurt, cereal and juices for the taking.

It is a fifteen minute drive to downtown Nashville from the hotel. Traffic wasn't much of an issue and downtown parking was fairly easy to find. We did depend heavily on our GPS to navigate the city, but never got lost. There are many attractions downtown, we used a day to see few, but easily could have stayed two days and not gotten bored. If you elect to drive to the Opryland complex, park in the mall parking lot, its free, whereas the Gaylord Hotel parking is $21.

We would stay here again if we were going to see the Grand Ole Opry, but may opt for a downtown hotel if we plan on staying for an extended length of time.

We have stayed at several of the Hyatt Places in Nashville but this is probably the best location (across from the pricey Opryland Hotel). However, BE SURE to inquire about the size of your bathroom. Most (and all end rooms we were told yesterday) are TINY,,,,Bath has a commode and shower and barely (truly) able for one person to turn around in there.Sink is outside of bath. Plus, when you call to make reservations (we always call rather than risk a "really bad room" on the internet).. Anyway, we always ask 'IS THIS THE BEST AND LOWEST PRICE? ..and were told IT WAS ... at $145.. and later found out that with a coupon (which is available all over including the rest stops near Nashville) it is $99 . So we were indeed disappointed about that since it was already booked at $145. The breakfast (included) was plenty and very nice... hot food, as well as ample choices.
We always want to "talk with a person there" to inquire of any specifics but this time we dropped the ball on inquiring about the bath. Plus we wanted a tub and most are all showers. Some good and some bad but the room with fridge, cleanliness, beds, big tv, extra lounge area, etc were all nice.

Room Tip: inquire about size of bathroom and LOWEST price...

This was our third visit to Nashville and the Hyatt Place was definitely a winner as far as accommodation goes. Our room was clean, spacious and well-appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. A big plus was the free shuttle to Opryland Resort and the other reasonably-priced shuttle to the downtown area (certainly cheaper and easier than driving there).

The only minus was the breakfast area which was very crowded and difficult to find an empty table.

In all, we enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area as a much cheaper alternative to the overcrowded and expensive Gaylord Opryland Resort Hotel.

Location is great for the nearby Grand Ole Opry (enjoyed it much more than we did about 20 years ago), park, Opry Land Hotel (worth a look if you have never visited), and huge shopping center; downtown is a bit of a hike (but they have a shuttle for $10 per person round trip). Cost was fair for level of hotel and city; downtown hotels might be better located if that is where you will spend your time, but prices tend to be quite a bit higher. Rooms are good with a decent separate sitting area if you will be spending time visiting with friends etc. in the room. There is a fridge but no microwave. Beds were very comfortable but the toilet/shower area cramped. The room was quiet. Our new GPS did not pick up the address for some reason and we had some initial trouble finding the hotel because it is set back in quite a bit. Employees were very friendly. The hotel seemed full and the staff was a bit too quick in cleaning our room but a little slow in restocking the breakfast items - nothing serious. Otherwise the included breakfast was fine. We likely would stay here again.

We had a nice room with 2 queens and a pull out. Very spacious. The complimentary breakfast is filling and includes hot and cold options. We used the complimentary hotel shuttle service to the Opryland hotel which is also within walking distance to the Opry Mills Mall. Overall, a great experience!
