“Great stay in a great city!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We travelled to Nashville with some other friends for a long weekend visit in February. Our stay at this hotel was very nice. I thought it was a little pricey, but was glad that when we booked the trip we selected the option that inluded breakfast because it was only $10 more. Everyone at the hotel was nice and quick on their feet with any requests that we had. And we were very close to many attractions that we wanted to visit.

From the second we arrived my fiancé and I were treated with the highest amount of respect. The staff was the best hotel staff I've ever come across. We requested a higher floor in hopes of a better view and the hotel was able to reserve us the top floor. The location of this Marriott is excellent! Broadway is 2 blocks away as we'll as The Ryman and Bridgestone. Will not need your car your entire stay. Would recommend parking in the garage across from the hotel on Printer's Alley. It's $10 a day whereas valet will be $23 and is unnecessary if you don't need your car. Will definitely book this same hotel and their Jacuzzi suite next time we visit!

Room Tip: King suite with Jacuzzi tub. Room on front corner of building. Suite is larger and view is better.

Wonderful hotel! Great staff, awesome location and nice rooms. We received a free upgrade because hotel wasn't booked. Our room was extremely large. The hotel bar had reasonable priced drinks and food.

I was here while a powerful line of thunderstorms passed through Nashville. I could hear what sounded like a car alarm outside, found out the next day it was a tornado warning siren. I'd never heard one before we don't have tornados where I live. You'd think someone...anyone...from the hotel would have called guest rooms to notify us what was happening and the possibility of tornados. Nope. Maybe they were hiding under the desks I don't know, but it was incredibly irresponsible not to keep guests informed of an emergency plan should a tornado have touched down.
Other than that I found this hotel dark and uninviting (the rooms specifically, not the public spaces) My room smelled like vomit. View of brick wall. I could hear my neighbors loudly. Grossly overpriced valet-only parking. Much nicer choices downtown at close to this price point.
Gold star to super friendly and helpful valets/bellmen.

Dear Kitchmitcha,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Guest safety is a number one priority here and in any Marriott hotel.

While we at the hotel as well as our guests knew of an approaching storm from the west, the intensity of this storm in middle Tennessee was uncertain until it was in the area at 3:00 AM.

I will share the procedures that we have in place and were responsibly executed that evening. A shelter in place was offered to every guest inquiring about an alternative location outside of their guest room. That location will always be in our secure Sub level beneath the street level. Dozens of guests were provided that space until the storm passed.

Water, glow sticks, flashlights and an emergency generator system was on hand for any needs we had. Our staff was assisting any and all inquirires through that period and were prepared with the supplies mentioned.

Calling every guest room would not have been prudent or our procedure as we were not in a mandatory evacuation condition. Calling every guest room would have taken over an hour and the heavy weather passed in 10 minutes.

Our building has witnessed 108 years of weather events in its current location without any damage. We are soundly constructed and are one of the safest locations at in Nashville.
Our staff carried out their procedures with every one they came in contact with and were praised the next day.

Great location, Room size for a big city wasn't bad. Breakfast...well, I'd rather have the Renaissance a few blocks over. We chose to have the room with breakfast included, which increased the price by $20....and we got coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The staff was very very friendly, especially in the restaurant. Nicely decorated. Close to Pucketts, the Ryman Auditorium and Downtown activities. Very good locations.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms by elevator...just pretty noisy...

In town for Monday Night Football game. Great location to walk anywhere downtown, as well as across the river to the stadium. Hotel lobby bar is weak at best, but no worries, since downtown area is loaded with many options. Tootsie's and Legends are fav's. This property is also across the street from Printer's Alley which is also a must to visit while in Nashville.

Although room is spacious, it had empty feeling... Bed was - Ok - but not great...

Thank you for your feedback and appreciation of our location. We are very convenient to the entertainment of Nashville. I am sorry you did not have a good experience in our Bistro/bar. We have had terrific feedback from others who exnjoyed the food, beverage and charm of this room transformed from a 1937 era bank lobby.
Safe travels!

Love the history and layout of the hotel...lots of "originals", ie, fireplaces, stairs, marble and the restaurant was revamped from an area previously used as a bank. very clean and kept up well.
It's in a GREAT location right near downtown.
Hotel staff are super friendly, especially Tad from their sales department. He went above and beyond to help us.
Stay here...you won't be disappointed!
