“My new favorite in Nashville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

My husband and I only stayed at this location for one night, but know that we would certainly stay here again. Arrived and was met by the Valet. His name was Taylor. He was very courteous and nice. Check in was a breeze. Oue room was cozy and nice. The only complaint I have about it was that the stopper did not want to go all the way down in the whirlpool so we had to use a washcloth and keep the water running while we used the tub. The bar/lounge area was very nice. Everyone was so helpful and suggested places to go and things to do. It is located within walking distance of all of our favorite places downtown. We will certainly stay here when we visit again in the future.

My husband and I just spent our Anniversary weekend at the Downtown Nashville Courtyard by Marriott and it was a great choice! It is in a beautifully renovated historic bank building at 4th Ave. N and Church - the location could not be better for all there is in downtown Nashville. We pulled up to the front door and were immediately greeted by the excellent valet who helped with our bags and parked the car ($23 per day). We did not use the car at all after that! Although we were early, we were given a beautiful corner room on the 11th floor with a nice view of the river, LP Stadium, the Bridge, and on the other side, Printer's Ally. You can hear the music coming from Printer's Ally at night, but it did not bother us or keep us up at all. The room was very large and comfortable with 3 windows, desk, wifi, flatscreen TV, refrigerator, etc. The Ryman Auditorium is 1 1/2 blocks, Broadway is 2 blocks, Hall of Fame maybe 5 blocks away. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I do wish they provided coffee in the lobby after 10 a.m. We will definitely stay at the Courtyard on our next visit to Nashville! Loved it - we had a great time!

We arrived and everyone who worked there, the valets, desk clerks, maintenance workers were 1st class and very helpful. The valet named Taylor was exceptional, pleasant and helpful. Inside the hotel it looked great and classy. There was no complaints with the room, If I did have a complaint it was the bed was too hard, didnt sleep well....but other than that mini complaint it was a great Hotel well worth the money. My wife and I discussed it, when we go back to Nashville we will definately go back to this Courtyard(ill just bring a memory foam cover),

I've stayed in plenty of Courtyards because they are dependable, comfortable over-nighters near an Interstate or airport. I've come to expect a clean room, comfortable bed, and a hot cup of coffee to take on my way in the morning. It is always a good 2.5-3.0 star roadside experience.

The Courtyard in Downtown Nashville was completely different, and an unexpected delight. We were there to celebrate the holidays NashVegas style, and it is very convenient and an easy walk to all of the the Broadway, 2nd Ave., and Printers Alley scene.

When we arrived, we pulled up to the valet stand and were greeted very kindly. Valet?? At a Courtyard??? Yes! We entered the large lobby area, and went past two ornate 20-foot bank gates to get to the check-in desk. This feels like a classic hotel because it is in a renovated bank building - large lobby with a restaurant area and plenty of comfy furniture on the first floor to meet your friends or peoplewatch.

Checkin was great - fast and efficient, and our group were all given rooms before 1:00 p.m. The rooms were large with the typical comfortable Marriott beds. The bathroom was a bit small, but useful enough. Breakfast the next morning was great, and we had absolutely no problems.

Nashville is a great spot to enjoy high-quality music of all sorts (not just country), and there is no better concentration of intimate live music and vibrant bar scene outside of Bourbon Street. Stay at the Courtyard Downtown - it is your best bet.

Many of the Marriott Courtyards are going under major renovations to win back business and perhaps casual guests. We stayed here overnite for an event that I was participating in the next morning.

The hotel is located in downtown Nashville, Apparently this was an old bank building. For those of you who are architectual "freaks" you will appreaciate how the Courtyard maintained some of the bank's characteristics.

Our room was oddly shaped yet appreciated. We had a corner room. When you open the door you will see your bed right away but what was nice was also most a "psuedo" hallway near the bathroom and closet. If you are a business person that must carry a lot of equipment, you will truly appreciate the space. There was also an extra huge mirror in said hallway which made it easier for hubby and I to get ready.

Since our stay was during the weekend, I am unable to give you a fair assesment on noise level. For our stay there were absolutely no disturbances. We enjoyed a very peaceful sleep.

The next morning we took advantage of their cafe which was located in what was probably the bank's former lobby. You will appreciate the super high ceilings. It was a bit nippy by the windows but otherwise this is a beautiful space. Service was excellent and it was nice having our own little tv in our private dining space. This is another feature available in most Courtyards now.

I highly recommend this hotel for any business or casual traveler. You must call their reservation line to book a room. We noticed two gentleman who walked in and said they wanted to book a room for the night, they were informed to call the reservation line. Not sure why they thought this was one of those types of hotels like you see on the highway with the big neons signs flashing "Vacancy". This is CERTAINLY not one of those type of hotels. Ok off the soap box and back to work for me.

Enjoy and travel well my fellow trip advisors!

Room Tip: Get a corner room if you can for a bit more space.

We booked this hotel for a wedding weekend, the options we had were this one, the nearby Hilton (a bit more expensive) and a hotel by the airport. There was a convention in town the same weekend, so out options were very limited. We choose the Courtyard by Marriott since it was good balance of convenience and price.

The room was a good size for two people (king bed room) and split up a bit between a desk area and the bed/tv area with a chair and microwave. The sink is outside the actual bathroom.
The hotel is only a block away from Puckett's and a few blocks from Broadway.

The staff was really helpful and let us have late checkout (1 hour extra) since we were super hungover. They held our bags while we went to brunch. The front desk staff also called a cab for us to the airport, which came quickly and was a good value. Definitely one of the better Courtyard hotels I have been to and I would stay here again.

This Courtyard stood out for its excellent service compared to the one in Brentwood. The staff is clearly trained on hospitality and going beyond the call of duty to serve its guests. This made the stay a positive experience.

The hotel was formerly a bank and the dining room/bar off the lobby has an incredible ballroom feel with what have to be 40 foot ceilings. Great place for a drink.

The glass on the building is single pane and does not insulate as well as modern glass. Not a big price to pay for the history. It did cause the air in my room to run more than usual and I woke up with a stuffy nose because of the vent location in my room. A minor issue on an overall good stay. The flat panel tv was adequate, but not as large as some upscale hotels in the area. Again, not a big deal.

If you favor historical buildings and excellent, personable service this is a great choice for a stay downtown. Go to Demos (a block away) for dinner and you'll have a perfect night.

Room Tip: Room layouts differ a bit in this historic hotel so you may find one suits you better than another...
