This hotel provided a good place to stay on a recent visit to Nashville for a wedding. At a price of less that $200 a night - I cant complain when comparing it to the price of surronding hotels. It is only blocks away for Broadway - home to a lot of bars. The valet is attentive. The rooms are spacious - cleanliness is ok - nothing good or bad to report. I would stay there again if the price was the same.

This Hotel has a great location but fails to live up to its position and being a part of the Marriott Chain. It just about deserves it's relatively lowly ranking in your table.
The welcome and valet parking was excellent. The room was good, but we had asked for a quiet room and we were given one overlooking Printers Alley. The noise levels were very high and were clearly going to continue well into the small hours. When we asked to be moved to a quieter room the lady on reception was very abrupt and told us it was impossible. However in the background we could hear her colleague tell her that there was a quiet room available. With more than a touch of bad grace she eventually agreed to show us another room. This turned out to be very quiet and perfect for our needs. In all other respects the hotel was fine, but it is always the case that when one encounters a staff member with bad attitude, it colours one's whole opinion of the Hotel. As a result I would not return to this Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel with my fiance for a 3 night getaway. I booked this hotel because I have always been happy with Marriott hotels. This, however, was the exception. We had problems as soon as we got there with the valet parking. No attendants were outside and there was no place to park to even go inside to find one. I had to drop off my fiance to go inside to get one while I drove around the block.
Check in was a breeze although my fiance and I both found it a little strange when the desk clerk began telling us about things to see and included a nude karaoke bar in her list. We both thought she was joking until we walked down the street and saw a topless club advertising for nude karaoke (Yes, there is a topless club less than a block away.. it's in Printer's Alley which, by the way, is overrated).
The room was ok but lacked certain ammenities. For one, there is no vent in the bathroom. We both thought this was just kinda weird. Secondly, there was no sink or mirror in the bathroom. Guess you have to brush your teeth and shave elsewhere. Third, there was no mini-fridge in the room. I really thought this was odd considering that many hotels now provide you with a full size fridge in your room. I would have been perfectly happy with a small one.
As for breakfast, well, you're pretty much stuck eating it because there really aren't very many options for that particular meal in that part of town. While it wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't good. What I really didn't like is that I had to pay for it even though many other Marriott hotels I've stayed at have always provided the exact same thing for free.
I guess the absolute worst thing about this hotel was also the best thing about it. I am referring to the location. It is within walking distance to everything downtown which we thought was great. However, you can not even walk a block down the road without being bombarded by homeless people (this is especially true at night). There are posters plastered all over the downtown area telling people that it is illegal for panhandlers to ask you for money and that you shouldn't give them any if they do. Several times we had bums coming up to us and have the audacity to say "I know it's illegal but I'm gonna ask you for money anyway because I need a drink". Not only that, if you tried to ignore them they would sometimes follow you until they found someone else to harrass. (We noticed this happening to other people also.. not just us.) They even have the nerve to sometimes cuss at you if you tell them you don't have any money. While we noticed homeless people in other parts of the downtown area, the area where this hotel is seems to be even worse in that respect.
Anyways, it wasn't a horrible place to stay but I will never stay there again.

The lobby and waiting areas are fine. The rooms are tired looking, nothing matched. A pink bathroom with a gold and blue shower curtain? The pink wallpaper was hot glued to the walls. If you don't mind that, everything else is fine. The location is awesome, close to everything. The bed was very comfortable and staff were nice. The hotel is fine for a night or two.

“Our new downtown Nashville favorite”

We stayed, for the first time, at this hotel from Sept 27-30, 2007. Everything was awesome--especially the location to all the downtown attractions--Printer's Alley, 2nd Ave N, and Broadway. Don't bother renting a car unless you have plans to leave downtown-you don't need one. The staff was friendly and polite, the breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable. We spent very little---probably too little!-- time in our room because we took advantage of all the fun to be had in Nashville. The only thing I would suggest for others is that if you are one who likes to turn in early, you may want to request a room on the 4th Ave side because otherwise you'll hear noise from Printer's Alley. It was not a problem for us but could be for others. We've stayed at three other downtown hotels and this is now our first choice when we return for our annual trip to Nashville. Be sure to visit Lonnie's Western Room in Printer's Alley when you go--great fun, cheap buckets of cold beer and lots of entertainment for all types!!
