“Food was fine, practical joke was a hoot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We went for dinner on a weeknight. I had the catfish sandwich which was tasty, but not exceptional. The sweet tea must have been on a diet - it was barely sweet. The sweet potato fries were good. The restaurant is known for it's steaks, which several of our party enjoyed. The restaurant is known for it's steaks, which several of our party enjoyed. The evening was unexceptional until we visited the bathroom, which has a naughty poster. We returned to the table laughing and soon got a visit from the owner, who gave us a gag gift, which was quite embarassing, but extremely funny. (I don't want to spoil the surprise, but be sure to visit the women's restroom!)

“great food and music”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

What a great place to kick back and relax. The food was down home cooking, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was good old country..with a great country music band. No need to dress up..jeans are the only acceptable wear.

“A's is very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We ate sandwiches and gumbo. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The service was also good. We were there before the entertainment, but the big screen was showing performances from the country music stars.

“Fun and easy going”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012 via mobile

We had had a long day, getting back to our hotel late, and needed something to eat. We had heard good things about John A's, so thought we'd try it. The food was great, the service was very friendly and prompt, and the house band was very fun!
