Food location for going around for wine tasting. Friendly service from Ron and Jane. Cleanliness is the main area I really like. The room smell fresh.love the tidiness n the size. Perfect for a few days away from city. Highly recommend to others. From Danny n Peggy

We have stayed at the beautiful Sage Cottage for a couple of nights. Easy and fast check in. Very friendly and helpful owner, she walked with us to the cottage, showed us around and explained everything we needed to know. Generous breakfast provision for 2 mornings, cereal, jam, butter, croissants, eggs, bread, milk, coffee and tea. The lady said if we run out of anything just come to see her and she'll give us what we need. Cottage itself is very cute and cosy, it's sort of "studio" cottage but generous in size and more than comfortable for 2 people. We loved wood heater - it warms up the whole cottage In no time. There is also a small kitchen with everything you need if you want to cook. The owners keep the whole property very clean and tidy. We loved hundreds of daffodils blooming all around the place...We woke up to the birds song in the morning and fell asleep listening to the frogs in the nearby ponds - what a treat! Cottages are very private and even that we knew we have neighbours we didn't hear or see anybody. We have a lovely lunch at Toolangi Tavern which is a short drive away and have a real country feel and wonderful views. Rockford Winery is worth to visit, they have yummy food and a good drop and it's only about 25 minutes away. Healesville is also just "around the corner", a short drive away and we always love to stop for a coffee and pie at Beechworth Bakery.
If we have to find something to whinge about, it would be a bed mattress - it was too hard for me but only because I have a very sensitive back after the surgery! Kitchen windows need a block out drapes or some sort of blinds - it was very bright with sun rise in the morning and for that reason was hard to sleep in! And one more thing: we were disappointed that there was no shampoo and shower gel available but it wasn't a major issue.
We highly recommend this accommodation, especially if you want peace and quiet.

We stayed here last weekend and it was sensational. There were four if us, myself my wife and our two children and we stayed in the Rose cottage. We found the cottages really pleasant, very clean and full of surprises such as little things like a chess board which was a welcome find. They are nice and close to all the attractions and the owners were very helpful. Overall we would highly recommend it and we will certainly be coming back

Jan & Ron were helpful from start to end. This was a lovely night away from the city, if you're looking for time away on a place that feels homely instead of the usual hotel feel, then definitely stay here. The fire was fantastic on a cold night, the extra large towels in the bathroom were are treat and the fresh eggs etc provided for breakfast were a brilliant touch. We will be back and we will recommend to everyone. The only down side was having to leave!

These are great little self contained cottages - We stayed in the Rose cottage which has 2 bedrooms, it was very spacious with everything you could ask for. We cooked ourselves gourmet breakfasts with the local produce, ventured out to the nearby winery’s (so many to choose from) bought some beautiful wine and cheeses and being warmed by the log fire made it all that much better!
Ron and Jan were really accommodating they showed us to our cottage and left us to it, which was nice so we could wear our PJ’s and not worry about having to answer the door or anything.
We felt had we needed anything at all it would have been no problem; we would just wander over and asked.
Thanks again for having us and we look forward to staying again!!
Erica

My husband and I stayed at Leafield Cottages in Sage cottage in late April. It was a deal I bought for 2 nights with breakfast. We stayed mid week so it was very quite, but beautiful spot. The cottage was wonderful, clean, comfortable, and the breakfast goodies were most welcome. The cottage is really well fitted out. Owners Jan and Ron were most helpful. We very much enjoyed our couple days in the Yarra Valley, with a wine trip one day with Wild Wombat Winery Tours, would certainly recommend it. We had dinner the first night at the restaurant almost next door to Leafield cottages on the Melba Highway called Dixons Creek Cafe Bar and Grill, great food, great prices!
