“Consistently good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I can't go to Rutherglen without eating at The Pickled Sisters Cafe. Whether its at noon or mid afternoon the food is terrific and the location easy to include in most itineraries.

If you are trying a few wineries its part of the Cofield property and just up the road from Pfeiffer’s with its legendary bridge. The past few visits I have started out with their Mussel 'Popcorn' - beer battered mussels with smoked paprika aioli - absolutely amazing flavour; and matched with some of the Cofield’s Regional Chardonnay.

The staff, who seem always happy to help smiled and nodded with understanding when for Sunday lunch one of us ordered mussels and pate and the other went straight to cake. Faultless.

“Nice surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We were recommended this restaurant by someone at a winery, and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't looking forward to it when we saw the location because its on a busy dusty road. The ladies at Pickled Sisters are really friendly and the menu is what you would expect at a city foodie joint. Really nice food, good prices!

“Great name and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We chose this cafe on the basis of it's name - it was a airy well set out space with an attached wine tasting room. We shared the local produce platter which showcased the King Valley meats, charcuterie, cheeses, Pickled sisters chutneys and delicious vegetables. The serve for 2 was generous and so delicious we ate the lot, with the staff offering more bread if we needed it.
