“Great location and friendly people.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012 via mobile

We had a powered site overlooking the lake on perhaps Rutherglen's busiest long weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa and Dennis, and their disabled amenities were very good. Great location, friendly people and walking distance to town - brilliant.

This park was a lovely surprise. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Loved the nightly happy hour down by the lake watching the beautiful sunset. There is lots to do here..lovely food and wine to taste.

The lake facilities are excellent and will only get better.

Congrats to Dennis and Lisa for what you have done in such a short time.

I stayed in cabin which was simple and clean. The room were quite small but it had all of the amenities. It's a 2 minute walk to the centre and there are wineries nearby.

Room Tip: Get a cabin facing the lake and watch the sunset while feeding the ducks.

Having read the previous reviews, I'm wondering whether there has been a change in management. Our cabin (no 1, which faces away from the view of the lake) wasn't all that clean and the bed wasn't comfy. The owners weren't very hospitable. In fact, they spent a large part of the day sitting outside their house, at the entrance of the caravan park, smoking and drinking. Having said that, the location is really good. It has a small, picturesque lake on one side, the town swimming pool on the other (a blessing in the summer heat) and is within easy walking distance of the main street. In terms of dining, the only decent option is 'the Tuileries'.

Room Tip: Ask for a cabin that overlooks the lake.

Caravan park cabins are usually not my favourite places but the cabins here are spacious, spotless, and well equipped and presented. Very comfy queen size beds, and small but immaculate bathrooms. The park is close to the shops and next to a small lake (picturesque) and large playground, which was great for the kids. The park has paved roads which were perfect for kids on bikes. A large pavilion with two barbecues, TV, fridges, games and big tables was a godsend when it rained. The ducks are charming and we enjoyed hanging out on the deck watching the sunset. It's also very quiet - no traffic noise at all, just birdsong. Excellent, would definitely return.

Room Tip: Cabins 4 and 5 have lovely decks.

Gorgeous lake with friendly ducks, lovely trees, really good playground in park next door, 2min stroll to main st for good quality cafes, pubs, galleries etc. Ride yr bikes onto the rail trail to Wahgunyah & visit some wineries.
A spotless, friendly place, reasonable rates.
