“If only I could bring the bed back...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2010

The self-contained Orchard House was just the idyllic retreat that my family and I needed away from the hustle and bustle of city life. After an eight-hour turbulent flight from Singapore, the queen-sized beds and soft, fluffy pillows provided the best sleep I've ever had overseas. I would also highly recommend the five-star restaurant-quality breakfast (see photos), and a walk around the surrounding area where you will see the occasional rabbit scampering across your path amidst rows and rows of apple trees. Our hosts, Frank and Helen, were very friendly and had some excellent recommendations for our meals in Redhill. We really enjoyed our stay!!

We were given a list of places to stay in Red Hill for a friend's wedding. Orchard B&B looked good on the web and Helen's prompt responses to my emails were helpful and friendly. We spent two nights in this beautiful spot tucked away at the end of a long road. Our bed was as comfortable as promised and the Egyptian sheets were divine. The room was clean and warm and the balcony has a great view - a really peaceful spot to sit and read the paper or a book. The little touches were great, including Frank's friendly welcome, the Italian chocolates, home-made biscuits, range of bathroom products....and the fact that our kind host switched on the electric blanket to ensure I had a cosy sleep. But the best part of our stay were the breakfasts. All of the products appear to have been sourced locally and were the best of the best. We enjoyed delicious raspberries, lots of fresh fruit, smoothies, thick creamy yoghurt, eggs cooked just right, and fantastic cafe lattes served in glasses imported from the US. The breakfasts were memorable. We're planning to return in winter for more of those breakfasts!

My partner and I flew to Victoria to attend a wedding in Red Hill. Knowing it would be a long day we needed somewhere close by to stay, but wanted something with a bit more character than the motels which were a fair drive away. We are so glad we selected The Orchard Luxury B&B, hidden amongst the local cherry orchards. Our room (one of three units) had a double spa bath, a really decent bed and a lovely small balcony we could sit and eat our breakfast on.

What really stood out to us was the amazing attention to detail and high level of service the hosts provided us. For example, prompt responses to our emails when we were booking, putting the heater on prior to our evening arrival so the room was warm when we got there, putting a jar of homemade biscuits in the room, and providing divine egyptian cotton sheets, just to name a few. Breakfast was available to have either in the common dining area, in the room or on the balcony. Although the weather was still a little chilly we elected to dine on the balcony and it was just a wonderful experience to sit back and gaze at the lush surrouds whilst eating the most divine breakfast and drinking fresh fruit juices!

It was a shame we could only stay one night. If we get the chance we will definitely head there again so we can relax and also explore the surrounding areas, markets, etc. a bit more. I highly recommend going to The Orchard Luxury B&B if you want some time to relax in Red Hill.
