“A gorgeous getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

A surprise trip for my partner's 30th, I'm so glad I came across Wild Patch Retreat! We stayed in the Chocolate Studio, which is as lovely as it appears on the website. We really appreciated all of the little touches, including the delicious chocolates and the (warm!) home-made bread. Linda is such a friendly and cheerful host, and her knowledge of and passion for great chocolate was apparent in the chocolate class we took part in. It was such a relaxing couple of days and I would have no hesitation in recommending Wild Patch to anyone considering staying there!

My daughter & I had a wonderful night at Wild Patch Retreat. It was a spur of the moment decision and Linda was very helpful ensuring that everything was just right when we had given very little notice. The friendly relaxed atmosphere, along with a wonderful massage and freshly made delicious choclates made our stay ...just perfect. Linda was a fantastic host and her attention to detail first class. The surroundings were so tranquil that we left feeling rejunivated . Will definately be returning for another visit and a choclate making class

My partner and I stayed here for just one night, but it was perfect. The whole process from booking to checking out was friendly and efficient.
When I contacted Linda about booking for a night she suggested some ways to make the night special, so we ended up having an in room massage and a chocolate making course the next day as well as Linda making a lovely personalised chocolate for my partner.
On the day before we arrived Linda messaged me to find out what time we were arriving to make sure that the fire was lit when we arrived. Also waiting for us was a freshly baked loaf of bread and chocolates dotted around the house. In the fridge were breakfast supplies and a charming minibar that was mainly Linda's chocolate products.
The retreat is spacious (probably overly so for a couple - but it is a nice luxury) and very well appointed in a modern style.
The morning after we cooked up our breakfast, which included 6 eggs from the chooks on the property. After this we did a chocolate making class with Linda where we learnt to temper and mould chocolates. This was very enjoyable, Linda is a natural teacher and a great conversationalist.

Overall we were both very happy with the whole experience and have been raving about it to family and friends. Well worth going!

Room Tip: The studio is great for 2, the retreat really is probably better for groups, though for a luxury it...

Our family had a wonderful winter weekend away at Wild Patch. We found Linda to be an excellent host, and our experience exceeded our expectations. The website and photos match the reality, and if you can find time, make sure you take up the chocolate making opportunity. My 6 year old daughter had a ball, and impressed all her friends. Come for the wood fire, and warm bread on arrival and stay for the serenity of the surrounding bush - plus the breakfast provisions are outstanding.

We spent 2 days (Friday & Sat night) on a getaway from the stresses of family. With the intent of just enjoying local wining and dining and a good gossip. The Accommodation was excellent. Very warm and cosy. We had organized a Deluxe Cheese platter for our arrival and it was so big we didn't have to go our for dinner for both nights. The sour dough bread is the best I've had in years. Breakfast was enough to feed an army. The snags were lovely.
Everything was set up for us to the point that the hardest thing we had to do was light the already prepared fire and open the first of many fine local wines. The place is a nice stroll to the township of Olinda.Beds very comfy. Not one complaint of a bad bed. And there were four of us and we all had a large queen size bed to ourselves.
We did the short beginners chocolate making class and Linda is a very patient and a genuinely good teacher. Linda had prepared a hot chocolate drink upon our arrival at the class and said that it was quite rich and we could put it aside if it was too much. There was laughter and down the hatch it went. That should have warned her that she was not dealing with amateurs. We learnt quite a bit and got to consume a good bit of chocolate. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: No matter where you sleep you will be happy.

Perfect weekend away, the fire was lit & fresh hot bread waiting for us when we arrived. There was more than enough provided for breakfast, including fresh eggs & sausages which were very tasty. There were gorgeous bantom chickens in the garden, who loved to be fed! Highly recommend doing the chocolate class, very enjoyable and the chocolate was delicious. We will be back!

Glad you enjoyed all the things we love! The chocolate making, warm fires, freshly-baked bread and our gorgeous 'girls' .. we've just acquired two more chickens named Caramel and Honeycomb! I'm sure you can guess their colouring :) Look forward to introducing them to you when you return. Thanks so much for your lovely feedback.

Last weekend a group of six of us stayed at the Wildpatch retreat which we used as a base while four of us walked the OXFAM trailwalker 100km challenge. We could not have been more fortunate than to have stayed at Linda's place. From the very beginning of the booking she accommodated our every need, and took care of us. We arrived to a warm fire, fresh sour dough and a beautifully clean and peaceful house. The next three days saw our support crew in and out with stuff, and Linda helped with everything along the way, including leaving heavenly bath salts for the weary walkers. On the last day with very tired muscles and a long way to go home, we were blessed with yummy home made chocolates and a late check out. Our support team of two became three with Linda's kindness and pampering. We would highly recommend wildpatch retreat as an excellent place for walking and cycling trips with friends, or just a luxurious restful retreat. We can't wait to come back and enjoy the full spoils of this tranquil abode.

Thanks for the lovely feedback and glad it was such a successful weekend! We were happy to support you in your walk for Oxfam and look forward to seeing you back some time - maybe for some chocolate making instead of a 100km walk this time :)
