“Girls weekend Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We spent 2 days (Friday & Sat night) on a getaway from the stresses of family. With the intent of just enjoying local wining and dining and a good gossip. The Accommodation was excellent. Very warm and cosy. We had organized a Deluxe Cheese platter for our arrival and it was so big we didn't have to go our for dinner for both nights. The sour dough bread is the best I've had in years. Breakfast was enough to feed an army. The snags were lovely.
Everything was set up for us to the point that the hardest thing we had to do was light the already prepared fire and open the first of many fine local wines. The place is a nice stroll to the township of Olinda.Beds very comfy. Not one complaint of a bad bed. And there were four of us and we all had a large queen size bed to ourselves.
We did the short beginners chocolate making class and Linda is a very patient and a genuinely good teacher. Linda had prepared a hot chocolate drink upon our arrival at the class and said that it was quite rich and we could put it aside if it was too much. There was laughter and down the hatch it went. That should have warned her that she was not dealing with amateurs. We learnt quite a bit and got to consume a good bit of chocolate. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: No matter where you sleep you will be happy.

Perfect weekend away, the fire was lit & fresh hot bread waiting for us when we arrived. There was more than enough provided for breakfast, including fresh eggs & sausages which were very tasty. There were gorgeous bantom chickens in the garden, who loved to be fed! Highly recommend doing the chocolate class, very enjoyable and the chocolate was delicious. We will be back!

Glad you enjoyed all the things we love! The chocolate making, warm fires, freshly-baked bread and our gorgeous 'girls' .. we've just acquired two more chickens named Caramel and Honeycomb! I'm sure you can guess their colouring :) Look forward to introducing them to you when you return. Thanks so much for your lovely feedback.

Last weekend a group of six of us stayed at the Wildpatch retreat which we used as a base while four of us walked the OXFAM trailwalker 100km challenge. We could not have been more fortunate than to have stayed at Linda's place. From the very beginning of the booking she accommodated our every need, and took care of us. We arrived to a warm fire, fresh sour dough and a beautifully clean and peaceful house. The next three days saw our support crew in and out with stuff, and Linda helped with everything along the way, including leaving heavenly bath salts for the weary walkers. On the last day with very tired muscles and a long way to go home, we were blessed with yummy home made chocolates and a late check out. Our support team of two became three with Linda's kindness and pampering. We would highly recommend wildpatch retreat as an excellent place for walking and cycling trips with friends, or just a luxurious restful retreat. We can't wait to come back and enjoy the full spoils of this tranquil abode.

Thanks for the lovely feedback and glad it was such a successful weekend! We were happy to support you in your walk for Oxfam and look forward to seeing you back some time - maybe for some chocolate making instead of a 100km walk this time :)

We spent 2 days in the 'Chocolate Studio'. 2 days before we arrived Linda contacted me to ask us what sort of bread we would like....there was about 6 choices & what sort of chocolate (normal, dark or fructose free). When we arrived at this secluded, serene location everything was perfect. The little touches Linda attends to make this B & B stand out. The little candles, the home made chocolate & sour dough bread, the wood fire was set & ready to go, the free range eggs from her beautiful chickens & other yummy fresh breakfast goods, assorted dvds, cds & books. The chocolate making class was so much fun. The studio is perfect for a couple & I believe the bed splits into 2 if you want to share with a friend. The cats are gorgeous & the chooks are very friendly & unusual breeds.
We will be returning to Melbourne in the future & will definitely stay here & will do a longer chocolate class.
My only regret is that we stayed here for 2 nights only. We spent 3 nights in the city first & in hindsight should have stayed at Wild Patch for the whole time.
Thank you Linda for making us feel special :-)

It was a pleasure to meet you both and glad you felt so well looked after! That's exactly what we try to do, so thank you for letting us know. Looking forward to seeing you back here on your next trip south and taking you to the next level of chocolate making.

What a wonderful few days we spent at wild patch retreat. The venue was so comfortable and relaxing and our hostess was "the mostest" she really could;not do enough for us from the time we booked. I thoroughly recommend the retreat to anyone. We had the Studio which was just so comfortable and compact, with absolutely everything provided. We will certainly return and recommend it to our friends and family.

We found it very tricky to find accommodation for 2 adults and 4 children. After ringing Linda, she made it very clear that we were more than welcome, and, would love to have the children for a chocolate making class, which they loved.
I loved the hot bread, (chosen 2 days before) and dived into it when we arrived.
Not like a hotel room. A home with all the house work done and music playing on arrival.
The beds were brilliant, as was the kitchen.
We loved sitting in the tranquility and reading or sitting down with a jigsaw puzzle, something I never have time for at home.
A great location, as it's so close to so many activities for families, Puffing Billy, Trees adventure, Chocolate making, just to name a few that we did. Fabulous food region etc etc.
Linda really is the Hostess with the Mostess! Thank you.

Making the booking and chatting to the host Linda, makes one totally comfortable before arrival, which is important for total peace and planning. Linda was there upon arrival and immediately felt at home and comfortable. All paper work was organised, so in a couple of minutes was all ready to just relax and enjoy this beautiful place. There is a stereo in the studio, also some Cd's to play just in case you forgot your favorite playlist...also videos and some books to read. The room is full of natural light when you need it and other extras such a kitchen with things you need for cooking. Linda made some freshly baked bread, fresh eggs from the host chooks,,,'you should go see them" so beautiful!! There are also other host pets; two beautiful cats and a playful happy dog! There are facilities for kids to play, so if you are family or a couple you will enjoy the serene surroundings with beautiful flowers and ferns! The cockabarrows are ready to sing for you in the morning. Besides all this Linda will keep you busy if you are ready to learn how to make chocolate and other useful life skills!! Loved the place and easily a far star rating for me and I will certainly go back again someday !!

Room Tip: There are places to eat near by but for breakfast you do not need to bring anything. Also, fi you en...
