“Disappointed and mislead”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

We were very excited to come to this amazing part of Victoria. The rooms here are large and spacious however tired and need maintenance, there is no day spa despite one being advertised, rooms lack noise insulation so are noisy. There were 2 weddings on during our stay, which we were not disclosed to us, meant that we could not access the restaurant or bar, and drowned the property with noise until well after 12.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lindenwarrah. We booked a luxury escape for 2 nights. The location is excellent and we spent a day travelling around the area. Covered a big area. The Hotel is very nice but is starting to show a bit of wear and tear. The breakfast and dinner were lovely. Very good quality food.
The staff are excellent, especially a young girl named Georgia. They couldn't do enough for us, very friendly and helpful.
Our expectations have been exceeded, Thanks

Stayed one night at the Lindenwarrah.....would have thoroughly enjoyed another night. Took advantage of the Indulgence Package. Room and facilities were good, but staff effort to make us feel welcome and quality of service and food in the Merlot Restaurant were first class. Dinner was exceptional....beef fillet....well the best meal I've had in some time. Hot breakfast buffet, overlooking the grape vines, was also top notch.
Special mention to the young lady who manned reception on Sat/Sun. Check-in was very organised, but she went the extra mile in answering lots of our questions about the the hotel and Milawa while checking us out. It was appreciated!
Already planning the next visit to Milawa....and would clearly stay at this hotel which is literally walking distance to Brown Brothers.

Stayed one night. Rooms are big and comfortable, all be it perhaps a little " tired" in appearance. If you charge 4 star type prices then you need to deliver. We were told the restaurant would not be open on the evening we stayed which was fine. So headed to the pub for a counter which was good. Breakfast was terrific. The staff overall are pleasant and competent. The pool area is in need of some work, the pool water had those harmless pool bugs in it which my young daughter loved! We will stay again, but hopefully the place might get a bit of sprucing up in the not to distant future .

Our first visit and we were not disappointed. Great room overlooking the vineyards, plus a beautiful sunset to watch. Lots of great places to visit nearby. Breakfast first class, with all the food very fresh. Lovely friendly staff.

Solid mid sized 4 star hotel with large comfortable rooms opp. Brown Brothers Vineyard so good location. Is the hotel a destination in itself as indicated on the website? Not really - booked from information on the website looking to luxury and spa services etc which were not operating at the time of visit (tho an outsourced massage was organised by the helpful staff). Also, apparently the restaurant was not open for dinner every night.

The rooms were large and comfortable (we had 2 rooms on the ground floor with king beds facing the front gardens). Note: shower only. Not lux but a solid 4 star with it's greatest assets being location and it's friendly and helpful staff.

At over $200 per night on the discount hotel sites it's not cheap but a welcome break for 2 nights in January having 44 degrees heat. If staying in Milawa and budget is over $200 per night then this is the place to stay.

Dinner at the restaurant (doubles as breakfast) was good, interesting food with a breakfast buffet in the mornings.

Most guests appeared mid aged couples taking a weekend break with some families.

Milawa, as a wine region does not have the visitor infrastructure of Yarra in Vic. or The Hunter in NSW.

Our three-night stay at Lindenwarrah was superb with its central location to key landmarks of Milawa such as the cheese factory and the Brown Brothers Winery. The hotel facilities were good from the lounge with good furnishings, soothing music along the hallways as well as the availability of reading materials and gameboards. Swimming and spa pool is nice as well but lighting would be recommended for night swimming purposes. Service was good due to reception staff, Roz and general manager, Amanda who were both very accommodating and made us feel at home. Breakfast was always good whether it be a la carte or buffet. Restaurant staff could be more engaging to guests and ambience of the Merlot Restaurant could be improved thru putting a carpet as well as a more appropriate interior decorating. Our Sunset View Room was so good and really spacious with a comfy bed, complete tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and of course the lovely terrace overlooking the vineyard and sunset. The availability of wireless internet makes the stay more valuable as well as the daily complimentary bottle of wine since it was part of our Groupon deal. Would really love to come back and we are happy to recommend this place to our family and friends. This is a great escape since it's just 2.5 hours away from Melbourne and is a good experience to learn more about wines and North East Victoria.

Room Tip: Sunset view room would be ideal, scenic views and big terrace
