“The perfect escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012 via mobile

We stayed with Vicky and Greg a few times now. We have loved their place and their hospitality. The breakfasts are sensational. As mentioned in another review, the bad thing about writing this review is that other people are going to find out about this place. One is certainly made to feel very special. This is definitely a space for the quiet weekend away. Allow time to sit and relax on the verandah.

Spent 2 nights at a B&B provided by Greg/Vicki. Everything was clean and beautiful. Their fresh fruit and produce from their garden is "very yummy" (my daughter's own words). I would describe their accommodation as cosy, new, warm with a daily 6 star breaky (personal opinion).

Highly recommended!!

Greg was very quick and professional from his email confirmation and recommendations of restaurants during busy season. The house is situated a few minute drive from main highway and before you reach Metung marina itself. We had to turn around as the right hand turn off was bit tricky to see.
We knew we had made the right choice as soon as we reached the house and saw a beautifully landscaped garden and wrap around verandahs. Greg was welcoming and let us settle in before he brought in the cheese platter which was enormous for 4 of us. There was also home made truffles and tea/coffee all professionally laid out and adding a nice touch in the kitchenette area. There are only two ensuite rooms which share the living area, so it was perfect for 4 of us. There are amazing views from the back of the house and this explains the location and position chosen for this beautiful house, which Greg built himself.
The B&B is spotlessly clean and with surprisingly luxurious touches normally expected from a 4 or 5 star hotel, such as full set of top quality toilettries, fluffy towels, high thread count white sheets, lots of comfortable pillows and a tv in each room.
The breakfast was probably the highlight of our stay if we really had to pick one. The eggs were freshly laid that morning from the chicken shed and musli was all hand made by Vicki, even the fruit dried on the premises. We had two kinds of fresh juice and fruit platter, eggs with smoked salmon, musli, yoghurt, tea/coffee etc.
Would definitely stay here again when travelling in this area and surprisingly was cheapest out of the hotels/B&Bs we stayed during our road trip from Melbourne to Sydney (but was the best one!). Our only regret is we only stayed for one night.

Room Tip: The front room has the sunlight streaming through the french windows and the back room has the grand...

What a brilliant place to stay! From the complimentary cheese platter and wine in the late afternoon to the scrumptious breakfasts provided by Vicki and Greg.
The bedroom, en-suite, guest lounge and kitchen were all top notch and beautifully furnished.
The veranda and the views just added to the ambience.
Vicki and Greg had good local knowledge and we took up Greg's recommendation to hire a boat to get to 90 mile beach - an excellent experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moorview

This was a delightful B&B, Greg was an extremely friendly and attentive host and Vicki's breakfasts were sensational with very different options from the norm. The fruit pizza was particularly good. We didn't need lunch. Greg's knowledge of the local area made our stay easy and enjoyable. The accommodation is comfortable spacious and very clean with separate lounge and kitchen. As others have mentioned, the house is located at the top of a hill with great views but just too far to comfortably walk into town although its only a few minutes drive. Our sat nav didn't cope well and its best to follow the directions provided.

This is a very good B+B offering first class accommodation & a really excellent breakfast. The hosts, Vicki & Greg, are extremely hospitable & welcoming. Free wi-fi is available.

Be aware that Moorview House is situated a few kms from the town centre & just a bit too far to walk.

We agree with most of the superlatives from the previous reviews - the owners have created a great b&b with a nice shared lounge area (even better when we were the only guests). The breakfasts were excellent, great choice of healthy and imaginative fruit and cereal options, followed by a cooked breakfast. The late afternoon cheese plates were also a nice touch.

The owners themselves were very friendly and provided helpful information on the local area and beyond.

We would have liked it even more though if the private area (bedroom) would have had a bit more space.
