“AWESOME Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

This place was fantastic. It was part of a Yarra Valley tour we were on. We thought we were doing the wineries tour so we were a little dissapointed when we found out that we were actually going to an animal sanctuary.....But it was way better than wineries!!!!
Our tour guide was a 'little old lady' volunteer, this was going to be a nice stroll around the park, I thought.....boy was I wrong, for a senior citizen she could sure move. She showed us as much as she could in the 2 hrs we had. The park is run by volunteers, which is a credit to all of them. The animals look well looked after & they are in a very natural looking habitat. My favorite was the Platypus & I bought a toy one as all the money goes back to the park. T.he carvings & statues around the park are lovely too
I will definitely go back as we only saw a small part of this 3 km park

“real australian animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

this would be the best attraction in australia for overseas tourists. their knowledge of habitats and animal behavior is outstanding. anyone who has friends visiting from overseas is negligent if they don't take them here. it is an all day event, check out thge times for some demonstrations when you decide which way to go. i highly recomend the eagle flight, sit at the back or at the front for the best experience, remember to duck.

“Australian Birds and Animals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Apart from the many individual attractions at Healesville Sanctuary you absolutely must see the Birds of Prey demonstration. In a multi tiered enclosure the keepers invite many different species of birds to join them on display. One attraction we didn't count on was our 2 year old grand daughter running out to the centre of the arena when the largest bird of prey, the Wedged Tail Eagle did it's thing. Fearing an unpleasant outcome, Poppa had to retrieve the runaway child before the large predator decided to swoop, much to the delight of the cheering audience.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Great for kids - make sure you have at least 1.5 hours. Try to catch the specific time for different animals - this make the visit more interesting.
