“Not a good experience.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

When we arrived in the park, we were surprised to see there's almost no grass on the camping site (almost all the camping sites), only dirt! Since it's dark already, we had no choice but stay. We stayed near the entrance and there's a toilet nearby. Unfortunately, when we wanted to go to the toilet, the door was locked, and no one gave any key to us, plus the reception was out of service at that time. So we had to go a long way to the other toilet in the freezing wind. The kitchen was small (compared to most big4 we stayed) and only blinds (with gap) provided at kitchen door. Winds can go through the blind gap easily which made the kitchen freezing too. Plus, this is the most expensive big4 compared to other wonderful big4s we stayed.

Hi
Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry your stay wasn't enjoyable.
We are currently in the process of replacing grass on our sites, you may have notice a few blocked off for that very reason.
With the camp kitchen we are also looking at ways of expanding it and making it a more user friendly space for the colder months.
The reception is closed between 6pm and 8.30am but there is an a telephone outside the door to contact us if you have any problems.
I hope you will come see us again someday and see the changes we are making though out the park.

The location is great - 5 minutes drive from the town, aside from flowing creek, completely shadowed by tall trees. Caravan sites are large with good facilities. The amenities are very clean and there is a family room (for babies or toddlers).
The staff is very friendly. Very nice playground and a lot of grass to play on. There is a nice pool too. It might be crowded on holidays or weekends.

Room Tip: Creek facing sites are great. Don't stay too close to the amenities building.

Just had another lovely stay at the amazingly convenient Badger Creek CP. Great venue and lovely tranquil surrounds. But the owners really have to do something about that pool!!! First they need to grass or pave the whole enclosed area, the fact that only the pool surround is paved and the rest is plain dirt means everyone is trampling dirt into the pool which leads to the next problem - it is filthy! When the kids go under the water you cannot see them under the water is so murky, which leads to the next problem. There is a rock on the side of the pool that despite the very small signs the kids jump off the rock into the pool and considering the fact that they cannot see if someone is swimming under the surface it is a injury waiting to happen. Our group ended up having to pay around $12 to go to the local Healesville pool and we were sooooo much happy for having paid the money. The pool was clean, not too busy, perfect to cool us all down on this extremely hot Labour Day weekend. If the CP owners read this please do something about the pool, it is the only problem I could complain about but it is a SIGNIFICANT problem and potentially very dangerous.

Packed up the three children, caravan and mother-in-law (and ear plugs because she snores) and headed to Healsville. Within the hour from Melbourne, we were at Badger Creek Caravan Park where we stayed for three wonderful nights. Absolutely gorgeous. This place is LOVELY. It was full of families - lots of 'little little' children (so if you have very small children, even babies, a really good place). No 'doof doof' hoons - it was very quiet, safe and really really friendly. Everyone was lovely. Great for the caravan, great also for tents (there were lots of tents - tenting on the banks of the river) - all shady good sized spaces. The children and I played in the creek every day as well as doing the usual Healsville Sanctuary which was just up the road (if we brought our bikes, we could have riden there). We stayed three nights - but could have stayed a week. Only an hour from Melbourne so a great quick get away. Next year we'll be back (however might leave the mother-in-law at home) - this caravan park is just wonderful.

Room Tip: Sites next to (camping) / opposite river (camping / caravan) are fantastic.

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of Dec wish we had the time to stay longer, a very shady quite little park with (a little dated) but extremely clean Amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only a short few minutes drive into Healesville. A beautiful spot if you wanted to camp beside a running creek and have a camp fire! Would thoroughly recommend!

We had a wonderful few days at this park, we have a big van and the staff were so helpful getting us in and out - got the tractor out to help us get out. Beautiful shady areas, amenities spotless, all staff just so friendly and polite. Thoroughly recommend.....would have liked to stay longer

stayed here for a wedding over the weekend. didnt know what to expect as its not the type of accomodation i would normally pick. however, on arrival the owners were very friendly and helpful. the cabin itself was clean tidy and had all that was required. great location and surroundings for a family with young children.

Room Tip: pick a cabin in the middle. then you wont have too many cars driving past
