“What a Great Wedding Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

Well I have to just let you all know that if you are booking a wedding reception around the Andover area then this is the place to be. Peter and Jane and their staff made the whole thing just great. Peter went through all the price options before we booked and gave us the best value, recommended the disco and even the flower person as we were not local. The food was great as were the rooms and the Barn looked so good all our guests were so impressed. We had a pre Wedding Breakfast the night before and took over best part of the place but the staff were just great as was the service. The day of the reception went without a hitch and the service was good and so was the final bill. We cannot thank you enough. I would recommend this venue to anyone. Once again Peter and Jane many thanks.

We attended a family wedding at The Bourne Valley Inn last weekend. The staff were wonderful and were so helpful in every way, even serving the one little boy his meal first so he didn't get too restless...very thoughtful. Our meal was delicious and presented well. The venue itself was a nice, intimate setting. It was lovely to have use of the garden area for photos and relaxing.
In the evening we had .plenty of room to dance. Our room was very nice with en-suite shower etc.and breakfast the next morning was great.
Thank you Peter,Janet and your excellant staff

Beautiful setting with a stream running at the rear of the property and plenty of excellent photo shots. Service with a smile comes complete with great food and wine and choice for those of us who are dietarily challenged.
would thoroughly recommend not just as a wedding venue but for all occasions. It has a lovely sign outside saying 'your wife rang to say it's ok for you to pop in for a pint on the way home' I think that says a lot about the welcome they offer.

St Mary Bourne is a lovely little village with the typically English thatched roofs and quaint little houses with narrow streets and a welcoming English pub or two.
Bourne Valley Inn (BVI) was not quite what I was expecting as my husband had made the booking. The rooms were quite small but adequate for a couple of nights stay. We were booked in for two nights which we enjoyed. The rooms were not very sound proof as previously mentioned but that was not really a concern but potentially could have been. The bathroom was adequate and the bed was no uncomfortable. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the food was reasonably priced and quite enjoyable. We went for a walk into the village which was very relaxing. I would recommend BVI if you want to experience a small English countryside village.

Room Tip: Beds are only double but they do have a queen size room so request that on booking if you like a bit...

We held our daughter's wedding reception at this venue in April. The staff were very friendly and helpful before the event and also at the reception itself. We had wanted a venue that was not a '5 star hotel' type to suit both families. The food was of a good quality and plentiful. We purchased the drinks package for our guests and this too was excellent. we thoroughly recommend the fruit punch which we chose to have served on arrival, and also to have available at the meal alongside wines. This suited drivers and non drinkers particularly well.

The meal was served promptly, with good service. we were particularly impressed with the offer for children. They were offered whatever they wanted, from a smaller portion of the main meal or anything of their choice, pizza, nuggets etc. It kept them happy!

The total bill was very affordable. We would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone. Our son was married a few years ago and the reception was held in a large 5 star hotel, and to be honest the food quality at this venue was just as good, and indeed the meal was served more promptly! the price for our son was considerably higher!

this hotel is set in amost beautiful part of Hampshire, a very rural setting in the middle of a seemingly prosperous agricultural area. The village of St. Mary Bourne is so pretty and so typically English with lovely old buildings and lots of thatched roofed cottages and houses, absolutely delightful.
The hotel is quite functional with a pleasant bar/restaurant/lounge area. The food is ok nothing exceptional but satisfactory. What let's this hotel down is the bedrooms. In a specialy built annexe they are small with practically no soundproofing so you can hear every movement in the adjoining rooms. The first night, one of the neighbours was a world champion snorer, thankfully after a couple of hours of this horrendous noise he/she finally went quiet so I was able to get some peace. The bed was small for a double and very very hard, so no comfort there, the shower room was adequate with nice towels and the smallest bar of soap I've ever seen. How annoying is it when you try to open these packets of soap with wet hands and they are so small that you can't get a grip. The owners/ management were friendly enough but the accomadation was overpriced.
