This year in July 2008 the snow depth was 1.77m. the best in a long time. Plenty of people. I stayed in Silverski. Had dinner at Cafe Max. There is great night life here. Snowboarder and Skiers will find these mountains excellent. I find this better than nearby Mt Hotham. temperature was around -7 degs. you can check this out on the fallscreek website with their live snow and mountain cams.

after skiing, I would recommend winding down at the japanese Onsen and day spa in Dinner Plains. This $6million day spa is only a recent addition and has been featured in day spa and travel motoring magazines.

I enjoyed the Onsen. the air maybe cold but the heated rock pool is great for sore muscles.

Falls Creek is the place to go skiing with your family. Huge choice of self-contained appartments, the best ski school programs for kids from age 3 and fantastic atmosphere in the snow-bound village.
A great choice of runs for skiers and boarders of all standards and none of those lenghthy line-ups you find at the NSW resorts.
Buy your food in Albury/Woodonga and bring it up the mountain. That makes it an affordable holiday !
