“Fresh local produce”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Fork to Fork is the restaurant attached to the Heronswood Gardens. The food was lovely with fresh local vegetables. The price was reasonable given it is a bit above a cafe.

“Worth the Drive!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Lunch at Fork to Fork was worth the drive and the food tasty and beautifully presented. we wandered around the kitchen gardens and watched our food being prepared in the kitchen from our table. The wait staff were knowledgable and the service excellent. Freshly baked bread and olive oil started our meal together with a glass of locally produced wine. Our mains were simple but delicious and we finished with a yummy rhubarb concoction. If dining at Fork to Fork you can still access the shop and wander around the nursery. Heirloom Vegetables are alone worth the trip! However, to enter Heronswood and view the amazing house and gardens involves a small entry fee. Go have a look! They now also serve breakfasts.

“GREAT PHILOSPHY + GREAT PRODUCE = GREAT FOOD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

As past members of the Diggers Club we enjoyed revisiting Heronswood & strolling through the gardens. The site is well maintained & it was lovely to see the gardeners tending the plots and on hand to answer our questions. As a natural progression of our visit we ended up at Fork to Fork for a light lunch. A small menu made use of locally sourced seasonal produce & wines and we chose only an entree each as it was quite late and lunch service was almost over. We had the Chicken Terrine with pickled veg & pate with charred house made bread. A well presented & satisfying dish & the Black Figs which were served with honey, blue cheese & walnuts....mmmm tasty flavour combination. A local Sangiovese was a perfect accompaniment to our light meal. As a chef, my husband appreciated being able to see into the kitchen which seemed to run quietly & efficiently. Alfresco dining was an option but the weather was a little doubtful so we opted for a table inside this unusual building which I was keen to learn more about, when I asked the waitress about the construction she said that there was a booklet about it, however, she failed to produce it, maybe she forgot. Apart from that it was a pleasant day out.

“Unexpected surprise, very good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

Located in Dromana at Heronswood Garden. The Diggers Club began growing heirloom fruit and vegetables some years ago and the restaurant sources their produce on site. The flavours are mouth watering as everyting is hand picked just before being cooked and served. They have quite an extensive menu and do also cater for children. Beautiful surroundings, you can dine inside or out. Just a tip though, make sure you book as it is very popular! After lunch stroll around and admire the old homestead as well as the beautiful gardens (there is a fee of $10 to enter the gardens.) They also sell the seeds and plants on site as well. A wonderful place that is sure to delight
