My mother and I stayed at the Home Place Bed and Breakfast a few weeks ago and it was a saving grace! When we originally booked, we had never been to TN and needed to visit some family where there really wasn’t enough room to bunk with. Found HP on the web and took a chance – best decision!
We got there late and were given keys to our room and told to make ourselves at home. We stayed in Mammy’s room and it was a delight! The beds were incredible comfortable – even more-so than the ones we have at home. The house is decorated with incredible antiques that make the comfort wrap around you.
The grounds were lovely and the porch with the table and chairs made for an incredibly relaxing opportunity in the morning during coffee and before retiring for bed in the evenings. The dogs run the property and have what we think might be the best life a dog can have. The owners have three cats, but you won’t see them unless Priscilla is there and you love cats – just in case anyone has any allergies.
Breakfast? WOW. Dora is great. We didn’t care what we had to eat, as long as we had something after traveling from Texas. First morning – grits, toast, fruit, jelly, eggs, coffee, orange juice. Amazing. We had pancakes and bacon and ham and so many other things during our stay.
If we go back to TN – we won’t stay anywhere else. Yes, it is rural and you wonder if you will ever get there. But once you are there – trust me – you won’t want to leave. I am a very picky person when it comes to lodging, but I promise, this is the place to stay in Mooresburg.
