“So Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Our stay started with a lovely welcome which included delicious scones, jam and cream. The weekend continued in this vein. Eileen and Tom could not have done more. The breakfasts were scrumptious, the room cosy and comfortable and the house and garden gorgeously maintained in the style of the late 1800s. Highly recommended!!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to receive a Birthday voucher from my friend for our 60th, to stay at Barnsley House, Beechworth. My friend joined me for our stay during the Harvest Festival weekend. (May 18th) Eileen and Steve made us most welcome with scones and cream and tea or coffee on our arrival. Their B&B was delightful. The furnishings returned us to the elegant days gone by and the hospitality they offered was second to none. The rooms were delightfully decorated and perfectly clean and the lounge, with its crackling fire, provided a very cosy and welcoming area to meet with other guests or read. Eileen's breakfasts were splendid.
Beechworth is such a pretty town and the autumn garden at Barnsley house, a picture, with the carpeting leaves. Scones and jam and cream in the pretty conservatory upon arrival were delicious and just what every weary traveller appreciates. A great weekend, topped off by the welcoming folks of Beechworth.

Room Tip: All the rooms were beautiful but if you wish to take advantage of twin beds, then book early as all...

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Barnsley House. Eileen and Steve were very hospitable and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The house and garden are beautiful and the breakfasts are great.

Room Tip: Albert room is sunny and large

We have just returned from a mid-week break at this charming B & B in beautiful Beechworth.
Our lovely hosts Eileen and Steve provided every comfort, and were so hospitable and welcoming that we didn't want to leave.
The B & B is lovely, the breakfasts are delicious (don't forget to try 'Ron's relish') and the garden is a picture particularly when viewed from the sunny conservatory.
We are already planning to return and bring friends with us to share this true B & B experience.

Had a fantastic time at beautiful Barnsley B&B with the girlfriend, made even better with perfect sunny weather.
Both Eileen and Steve were incredibly hospitable and provided above-excellent service to all guests. The house itself was lovely and a very quiet retreat to relax in. Lovely served breakfast, great company and we WILL be back :)
Thank you.

Had an amazing weekend at this beautiful B&B! We live in Nunawading and it was quiet a drive to Beechworth on a Friday night, but Steve & Eileen were more than happy to wait up for us until 10-10.30pm at night for our arrival. From the moment Steve opened the front door they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Perfect hosts, perfect food, perfect weather! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend if we tried :)))) Thank you so much for your hospitality I hope you win many awards for your efforts. We will recommend you to both friends and family and we will be back as soon as we can!!! LOVED IT!!

Had a delightful stay at the house - the quality accommodation (including in-room spa bath), handy location, lovely breakfast and engaging hosts. Second to none. We look forward to our next visit. Well done Steve and Eileen!
