“Fabulous Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Stopped here on a trip to the Great Ocean Road after reading the reviews on here. Staff were helpful, friendly and the cafe itself utterly charming. The food was the real star, gorgeously fresh and tasty. Wished we live nearer to make it a regular haunt.

“Cartel Coffee and the freshest food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Their coffee is Geelong's Cartel Coffee and is absolutely the best coffee in Anglesea.
The salads, terrines and sourdough sandwiches menu varies but they are always interesting (think pomegranate seeds and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing on a robust leafy salad) and are made from fabulous and fresh ingredients. Although the location is away from the beach - the cafe is set in a nursery - it is a calm, creative and pristine oasis: the presentation bears all the hallmarks of a creative & skilled nurseryman. His impeccable timing is evident, just as the Glory Vine sheds its leaves climbing tomatoes bearing fruit wend their way around the outdoor structure. And always absolutely spotless.
On your way out pick up your weekend or week's supply of fruit and other organic or wholefood goodies (amazing pre-pared foods for sale as well, pastas, curries as well as cheeses and cured meats).

“What a great find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Tucked away from the main shopping centre strip, this cafe offers a very attractive and relaxed dining experience. We visited as a family of five over the long weekend and were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. The staff were friendly, the food was good and the award-winning coffee the best I have ever tasted! Fantastic! I would thoroughly recommend a trip to this cafe which is part of a nursery/organic produce store complex.

“Hidden gem.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Do not be put off by the industrial buildings in the same street. Once you get into the nursery, you would not know where you were. The food and coffees were delicious. Staff were happy (and who would not be, working in this enviroment) and told us about some local plants etc.
As a Queenslander, I am always interested in the different plants in other states of Australia. So a walk around the nursery (even if you are not a Queenslander) is worth a look. Loved the espaliered citrus trees, just perfect for a small garden area.
We bought some mandarins, which were the best I have ever tasted and we were ready to hit the Great Ocean Road.

“A hidden gem in the Surf Coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Since they opened the cafe this year, it has been nice to have an option for good coffee in Anglesea. The coffee is supplied by cafe Cartel from Geelong and its one of the best blends I have tasted. The food is a mix of medditerranean and Australian cooking. Prices are fair and staff is very friendly. Definately a place you shouldn't miss.
