We had made a last minute decision to try our luck for a table for two on a Friday night. We left our name with Steve who promised to get us from the bar and he was as good as his word. We decided to go straight to mains and chose the veal rump with buttered leeks and potatoes, the other main was duck with daikon and ginger and served with a potato galette. The veal was cooked to order and cooked to medium rare perfection. It was tender and succulent and beautifully presented. The duck was lean and meaty and the galette should be served with a warning from a heart specialist! Rich and very buttery, truly sublime. This is a busy French inspired bistro. Always busy, with friendly professional staff this well known establishment has been around for around 16 years so they are clearly doing lots of things well. It can be noisy, especially if you are near a large table, but that is part of the atmosphere. It is not a cheap night out, but offers great food at a fair price.
