“scary prawns”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Most of what needs to be said has been said. Fantastic position, lovely view, excellent willing service by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The place combines great food with a sort of understated non pretentiousness. I plumped for prawns: prawn cocktail starter, which was OK, followed by stuffed prawns which was delicious. Where did they get those amazing prawns? They are huge. Or perhaps being from the Northern Hemisphere I'm simply not used to prawns larger than half an inch in length. Anyway, it doesn't matter if they were secretly bred under high security in a nuclear power station drinking a soup of genetically modified algae, they were delicious. And there was even tomato ketchup!

“Good but pricey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Had their best seller and famous fish and chips..it was OK but it came with the plum sauce which didn't suit the fish so had to buy the tar tar sauce...very expensive, we had tried another fish and chips set at circular quay for a much lower price and tasted better than doyle's.

“Over priced, Poor food quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

Service was good. Food was poor. Example, Oysters Kilpatrick. Tons of shredded bacon, little to no wistershire. Was it hot...no....warm to cold. Main meal was below average. Prices were sky high.

“Mediocre at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

Disappointed at what I thought was a Sydney Institution when it came to seafood. Had lunch here many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My local takeaway serves better food than this place. I think they thrive on the tourist dollar. The food has not progressed with the times. Those stuffed prawns on the platter were genuinely stuffed. The crab tasteless and sad. The smallest looking mussels I have ever seen. How can a restaurant not get calamari right. Tough as nails. Service does not exist. The only thing going for this place is the dipping sauce its really tasty.

“Best Fish and Chips in Sydney”

A Sydney icon and lives up to its name. Stunning location, great service and fantastic fresh seafood - what more could you ask for?
