“Great view, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The view certainly helped to make this an enjoyable lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Make sure you make a reservation, but even then the process involves everyone standing in line. Not the best method.

Our table had a lovely view of the water. Recommend that you ask to be seated in one of the small rooms. Much quieter and better views.

My wife had the fish fillet and I had the fish chowder. Both were excellent, and the accompanying veggies were done al dente, which was perfect. Do try the sangria, it was an excellent starter.

“Good Lunch Venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Great relaxing lunch venue to enjoy views of water while you eat a delicious meal and sip on a nice glass of bubbly. Staff are friendly and service is good. Good place for visitors wanting to experience the views over a great lunch or dinner. We would definitely revisit. Well worth it.

“Lovely location and views and lovely sea food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

We took a ferry to Watson Bay and had a lovely walk followed by a lovely meal with great views back to Sydney. The menu was clear and extensive. The service a little slow but friendly. The food was excellent but a bit expensive. We missed the last ferry back but enjoyed an alternative bus ride to Rose Bay and caught a ferry from there. Doubles is nice for a special occasion when you want a quality slow meal in a lovely location.

“A ferry trip up the harbour then fish & chips at Doyles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Each time I visit Sydney the ferry trip and fish and chips at Doyles is a must.
What a great way to spend and hour or two. Catch the Watson's Bay ferry from Circular Quay up to Watson's Bay. Alight from the ferry and queue up for your fish and chips on the wharf, you sometimes have to be lucky to get a table, but worth the wait to just sit, take in the harbour and the delicious aroma and taste of freshly cooked fish and a pile hot delicious chips. You can have a beer, wine, coffee etc. There is no service, its take away with somewhere to sit, eat and buy a drink. You eat your meal from a cardboard box with plastic cutlery, me I prefer fingers, it tastes better that way. When your finished, explore Watson's Bay then ferry back to the Quay.Reasonably priced for Sydney.

“Posh fish and chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Visited this lovely spot during the Lions tour, so it was exceptionally busy and full of tour groups. We were lucky to get a table in the old original part, a great improvement on the cavernous area below. Food and service were both excellent. Feels to be on many a "must see and do" list so book early.
