My hubby and I stopped here on our way to Florida. We look for budget-friendly lodging while en route because we are only stopping to sleep. As long as our accommodations are clean and in a safe neighborhood, we're happy. And frequently Super 8s meet our needs. But every once in a while, we find a rotten apple in the Super 8 barrel ... and this Super 8 was one of those rotten apples. We saw the sign on the interstate that indicated that it was a new hotel and that rooms started at $45/night. Perfect we thought. However, it was quite obvious, once we got in the room, that it was NOT a new hotel. And we paid significantly higher than $45/night. While the room did appear to be clean, it wasn't as nicely updated as I would have expected given the price we paid. In fact, there was a low, dropped ceiling over the tub area that my husband (who's not all that tall - 5'11") bumped while getting out of the shower. The scary part is that the light fixture ... which was right above the shower curtain rod ... wobbled as a result, which made me wonder if it was all that secure. Needless to say, I didn't get in that shower! The beds are the most uncomfortable we've slept in (and we travel a good bit). And the breakfast options were about half of what we would expect for the Super 8 breakfast ... nothing hot, no bagels ... only cold cereal and English muffins. We definitely will not be stopping there again, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone else.
