Following total renovation which has changed it to a bar downstairs and fine upstairs, Claude's has regained its status as one of Sydney' best restaurants. We loved the decor, especially the lighting reflected by zig zagging mirrors and holding to tradition by retailing the wall plates but now upstairs. We did the degustation upstairs leaving Gen Y in the bar to their drinks with bar food. Upstairs was back to Claude's very best. Each of 8 courses individual, delicate with well thought out combinations of flavours. One dish stood out by the title and the ingredients - 'Budda climbs over the wall' - certainly not veg but a combo of chicken, abolone, chicken liver
parfait and Serrano with fennel. We would have climbed over the wall too just for this dish.
